Nationalpark Þingvellir – UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe, wo Sie zwischen zwei Kontinenten wandern können! Erkunden Sie dramatische Landschaften, die von den sich verschiebenden tektonischen Platten Nordamerikas und Eurasiens gebildet werden. Hier befindet sich auch das erste Parlament Islands, das 930 n. Chr. gegründet wurde. Wir genießen einen leichten und malerischen Spaziergang durch das Spalttal, umgeben von atemberaubender Natur und faszinierender Geschichte.
Geysir Geothermal Area – Wir werden etwa eine Stunde damit verbringen, dieses unglaubliche Geothermalfeld zu erkunden, in dem sprudelnde heiße Quellen, dampfende Schlote und der berühmte Strokkur-Geysir zu Hause sind, der alle paar Minuten eindrucksvoll ausbricht. Sie haben Zeit, um durch die Gegend zu spazieren, die natürliche Schönheit zu genießen und erstaunliche Fotos aufzunehmen. Wir werden auch unser Mittagessen hier in einem nahe gelegenen Restaurant mit Blick auf die geothermale Landschaft genießen.
Gullfoss Wasserfall – Der als „Goldener Wasserfall“ bekannte Gullfoss ist eines der berühmtesten Naturwunder Islands. Sie werden Zeuge, wie die mächtige zweistufige Kaskade in einen tiefen Canyon stürzt und an sonnigen Tagen neblige Regenbögen erzeugt. Wir machen einen Spaziergang entlang der Aussichtspfade, um den Wasserfall aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln hautnah zu erleben, und Sie haben viel Zeit für Fotos und die atemberaubende Aussicht zu genießen.
Kerid-Krater – Ein markanter Vulkankratersee mit leuchtenden roten und schwarzen Hängen, der einen tiefblauen Pool am Boden umgibt. Wir machen einen kurzen Spaziergang um den Rand und bieten atemberaubende Aussichten und Fotomöglichkeiten. Sie können auch zum Wasserspiegel hinuntergehen, um die friedliche Atmosphäre aus dem Inneren des Kraters zu erleben. Es ist eine perfekte Mischung aus Geologie und Schönheit – ein wahres Highlight des Golden Circle.

Our driver was very friendly, very accomodating and we felt safe with his driving. However, we certainly didn't get any knowledge of Iceland from him, we may as well have just booked a taxi to take us arouind. A friend went on one recently and also go a guide in with their tour, they learned all sorts. We thought that is what we were getting but sadly that was not the case.

According to your booking details, the tour you reserved was a non-guided package, which is why a driver was assigned rather than a licensed tour guide. Please note that all of our drivers are highly experienced, professional, and safety-focused, and their primary responsibility is to ensure a smooth and secure travel experience. In-depth historical and cultural commentary is provided in our guided tour packages, which must be selected at the time of booking. Additionally, our driver informed us that during much of the tour, you and your companions were engaged in phone conversations and discussions among yourselves inside the vehicle, which also limited opportunities for interaction. We regret if there was any misunderstanding regarding the type of service booked, and we always encourage guests to contact us prior to the tour if they would like to upgrade to a guided experience. The Golden Circle is a wonderful way to see a good portion of Iceland. We liked having a private tour person so we could be on our own schedule. Unfortunately, our guide, although a nice guy, was unable to provide any information about anything we were taken to or even whilst we had lengthy times in the car. We had to even ask where we were going next and how long would it take. He just dropped us off. No information about Iceland or the places we were visiting was offered. It was nearly $1,000 US $ and much too expensive to have a guide with no knowledge of what we were seeing. Disappointing to say the least. If you can get a guide who is from Iceland who knows the area instead of a person who is not from Iceland, you will have a better experience than us.

Driver was good, drove safely and pleasant. Charge was very high and included in Golden Circle is Blue Lagoon, a 15 minute ride from the airport. yet, Viator wanted to charge us an added $180 for drop off at airport that took the drive 15 minutes extra. Outrageous.
