Die Golden Circle Express Tour ist ideal für diejenigen, die auf Geschäftsreise sind oder nur eine begrenzte Zeit haben, aber dennoch einige der beliebtesten Sehenswürdigkeiten Islands besuchen möchten. Die Expresstour umfasst die Hauptattraktionen der berühmten Route des Goldenen Kreises, wie den Thingvellir-Nationalpark, den Ort, an dem 930 das isländische Parlament gegründet wurde, und die Spaltung zwischen der amerikanischen und der eurasischen tektonischen Platte. Wir besuchen den Gullfoss-Wasserfall, um das Geräusch des fallenden Wassers und die Kraft des Wasserfalls zu genießen. Der Thingvellir-Nationalpark ist sowohl für seine historischen als auch für seine geologischen Begebenheiten bekannt. Einerseits ist dies der Ort, an dem sich die amerikanische und die eurasische tektonische Platte trennten. Andererseits ist es ein symbolisch wichtiger Ort in der Geschichte der Bildung der isländischen Nation, der Ort der Nationalversammlung seit der Zeit der ersten Siedler der Wikingerzeit.
Während dieses Stopps machen wir einen Spaziergang durch das kleine geothermische Tal von Haukadalur, das für seine heißen Quellen Geysir und Strokkur bekannt ist. Obwohl Geysir heute inaktiv ist, bricht Strokkur, der größte aktive Geysir des Landes, alle 5 bis 10 Minuten in einer Höhe von 20 bis 35 Metern aus.
Gullfoss ist einer der berühmtesten und beliebtesten Wasserfälle Islands; es besteht aus zwei Schritten. Der erste Wasserfall ist 11 Meter (33 Fuß) und der zweite Wasserfall 21 Meter (65 Fuß) tief. Die Wände der Schlucht, in die der Wasserfall mündet, erreichen eine Höhe von bis zu 70 Metern (230 Fuß). Geologen glauben, dass die Schlucht durch Gletscherausbrüche am Ende der letzten Eiszeit entstanden ist.

We arranged this tour as we were travelling with our two children, 4 and 8 years old and felt it gave us a little more flexibility, comfort and personalisation. Sergei was a fantastic guide. Before the tour he was happy to exchange a number of emails answering our questions and informing us of what to plan for. The 4x4 minivan is very comfortable and capable. Sergei is endless font of knowledge, not just of the main attractions but general information. Along the way he also offered small stops to see some of the other interesting spots on the route in addition to the 3 main stops which added to the personalisation. Thoroughly recommend!!

We booked a private tour for the Golden Circle and the South Coast combined. It was fantastic. Couldn’t have been more informative, courteous and helpful. It wasn’t cheap. We took another tour the second day with a larger company and a larger group. It was very disappointing compared to the quality of our day with Top Iceland Tour. You get what you pay for is certainly true in this case.
