Auf dem Rückweg nach Akureyri fahren wir entlang der Küste des Eyjafjörður, einem der längsten Fjorde Islands, von wo aus Sie über den Fjord nach Akureyri blicken und tolle Fotos machen können. Genießen Sie eine kurze Einführung in die Stadt Akureyri, fahren Sie durch die Altstadt und besuchen Sie die Perle von Akureyri, den Botanischen Garten.

Der Goðafoss-Wasserfall ist einer der schönsten Wasserfälle Islands. Aufgrund seiner Geschichte wird er auch Wasserfall der Götter genannt. Im Jahr 1000 machte Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði das Christentum zur offiziellen Religion Islands und warf daraufhin seine Götterstatuen in den Wasserfall. Das Wasser fällt aus einer Höhe von 12 Metern über eine Breite von 30 Metern.

Informationen zur Abholung Wenn Sie mit dem Kreuzfahrtschiff in Akureyri ankommen, stellen Sie bitte sicher, dass Sie uns den Namen Ihres Schiffes mitgeteilt haben, da es mehrere Häfen in Akureyri gibt. Hafen Tangabryggja : Etwas außerhalb des Kreuzfahrtschiffsgeländes finden Sie mehrere kleine Holzhäuser. Star Travel befindet sich in Haus Nummer 3, und wir werden Sie dort treffen. Oddeyrarbryggja Hafen : Direkt vor dem Schiff finden Sie einen Icewear-Shop. Daneben befindet sich der ausgewiesene Agentenbereich, in dem alle Reisebüros auf ihre Kunden warten. Wir werden dort mit einem Star Travel Schild sein. Suchen Sie einen unserer Kollegen in einer leuchtend gelben Jacke. Wenn Sie in Akureyri übernachten, stellen Sie bitte sicher, dass Sie die richtige Unterkunft für die Abholung ausgewählt haben. This was the third tour we booked though Viator on our cruise around Iceland and not as well organised. We had booked to see the Godafoss waterfall and the botanical gardens. The tour company that Viator had chosen, subcontracted the booking to another tour company that was only going to the waterfall. We had to request to be dropped off at the botanical gardens. There was no guided tour and we had to ask the driver to pick us to return to the ship. Having said that the drive to the waterfall and the waterfall itself was very interesting and the driver/guide very good and helpful. This tour was expensive (even for Iceland) and when I asked about the price I was told it was taxes and tunnel tolls, but we did not go through the tunnel. We did find out the previous day from Tourist information that there was a free bus to the waterfall and that the botanical gardens was free entrance and walking distance from the cruise terminal. So, we feel very strongly, nice as it was to see the two attractions, the price was exorbitant and feel we should get at least a 50% refund
The tour is great. The waterfall and the gardens are beautiful. I would recommend the tour if there was another operator. Our problem was the tour operator. They left us stranded at the gardens and did not answer their phone. Viatour was very helpful and processed a refund and gave us information about returning to our ship.

We’re sorry to hear about the frustration you experienced, but we would like to clarify that our tours operate on a set schedule to ensure all guests can enjoy their time and return safely and punctually. Unfortunately, when guests are not back at the designated meeting point on time, the tour must continue as scheduled. Our team did attempt to reach out, but as we must also respect the schedules of other guests, we could not delay the entire group.
Bathroom lines at the falls are really long, and you must pay. By the time we went to the falls and walked up to the bathrooms there wasn’t enough time to wait in line, so I couldn’t go. Suggest adding about 15 minutes to the time.

Wonderful tour. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable. The meeting place was easy to find and the tour was the perfect amount of time. The waterfall was amazing and the botanical gardens were beautiful. We were fortunate to have spectacular weather which definitely made a difference for this particular tour.

Listen carefully to pick up instructions. Driver lost people twice! First time, van moved 1/4 mile away and driver left, making it difficult to find correct pickup spot. Second stop, driver locked vehicle and went to chit-chat with other drivers, leaving passengers waiting in the cold. The falls were amazing. The botanical garden was a free city park.

Great tour! The local guide, was the best told lots of interesting information not only about the falls and gardens but also Iceland/ Akureyri . The coffee shop in the garden was very pleasant.

This was a great little excursion. Our guide was funny, flexible, and very informative. The falls were worth seeing. After the tour our guide gave us the option to walk through town back to the ship, and we happily did!
