Wir verlassen Muscat nach Nizwa, der alten Hauptstadt des Oman. Besuch der berühmten Nizwa-Festung. Heute ist das For ein Museum, das die Geschichte der Festung und der Umgebung zeigt. Birkat Al Mouz ist eine Kleinstadt in Wilayat Nizwa im Gouvernement Al Dakhiliyah im Oman. Birkat Al Mouz liegt an den Ausläufern von Jabal Akhdar, so dass jeder, der nach Jabal Akhdar geht, vorbeikommen muss, um durchzukommen.
Bewässerungssystem von Al Kattmyn, eines der 5 Bewässerungssystemerbe der UNESCO. Von dort geht es hinauf nach Jebel Akhdar. Auch bekannt als der Grüne Berg, beherbergt Jebel Akhdar viele Obstplantagen und Rosengärten. Nehmen Sie sich Zeit für einen Spaziergang durch die Hügel und genießen Sie die Aussicht auf das Tal
Der Jebel Akhdar oder Al Jabal Al Akhdar ist Teil des Al-Hajar-Gebirges im Gouvernement Ad Dakhiliyah im Oman. Es erhebt sich bis zu einer Höhe von 2.980 m und umfasst das Saiq-Plateau auf 2.000 m über dem Meeresspiegel.

I took a busy vacation trip from Canada with my partner in December 2025. I had an amazing experience with Mohammed Salim. We did the Nizwa/Jabel Akhdar tour. He want out of his way to not only made us feel welcome but treat us like a family. We not only went to all the necessary places in our itinerary, he was kind to get us some dates and breakfast. We felt extremely comfortable with him and took great care of us. I connected with him like a family and was really inspired by his story. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable trip from Muscat to Jebel Akhdar. We were guided by Fauzi, who didn’t only drive but also explained about Oman history and culture. We stopped in some famous spots on the way, such as Nizwa Port, Nizwa souk, Nizwa old village, and Jebel Akhdar view points. Fauzi was knowledgeable and accommodating, made sure we enjoyed our trip. A full day was promised and it was - start at 8.30am and back at nearly 6pm. The drive is 140km and 2 hours each way. Comfortable. A good look at the rather forbidding countryside dotted by villages and towns. On the way an impromptu visit to our guide Ali’s home village with an insight into their life. The Nizwa Fort well worth a visit. Our tour included a visit to several markets - the merchants often welcome our guide with a handshake and a smiling greeting. Very few tourists due no doubt to the war but all very peaceful here. Then up to Jebel Akhdar mountains and a visit to the terraced gardens of olives, pomegranates and roses. Our guide a gentle softly spoken man with quiet humour. A long but satisfying day.

We had an amazing tour in Oman with Shaker — truly one of the best experiences of our trip! 🌟 We explored Nizwa Fort and enjoyed incredible views and history, then walked through Nizwa Souq, where Shaker helped us find authentic Omani products and explained the local traditions behind them. It made shopping there so much more special! We also visited the beautiful ruins of Birkat Al Mouz, learned about the traditional aflaj irrigation system, and spent time with a small walk in the stunning mountains of Jebel Akhdar with breathtaking views and fresh air. Shaker was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole day fun and relaxed. Highly recommend touring Oman with him — a perfect mix of culture, history, and unforgettable scenery! 🇴🇲✨
