Unser erster Stopp wird in Cachiviro am Ufer des San-Pablo-Sees sein. Dort werden wir die traditionellen und köstlichen Kekse mit Käse probieren, begleitet von einem guten Kaffee und der schönsten Landschaft, die wir uns neben dem Vulkan Imbabura vorstellen können. Wir fahren mit dem Besuch des Peguche-Wasserfalls fort, wo wir einen etwa einstündigen Spaziergang über den Weg machen, der uns zu dieser Attraktion führt. Abschließend besuchen wir den Poncho-Markt in der Stadt Otavalo. Dieser Ort hat sich zu einem Konzentrationsplatz für das Kunsthandwerksangebot Ecuadors entwickelt und gilt als die größte indigene Messe Südamerikas, auf der mehr als dreitausend Kunsthandwerker ihre Produkte anbieten. An diesem Ort haben wir ausreichend Zeit, jede Ecke zu besuchen und die Produkte zu kaufen, die uns gefallen. Bevor wir nach Quito zurückkehren, probieren wir ein typisches lokales Mittagessen. Der Service ist privat und alle Touren werden von einem Tourismusfachmann durchgeführt, der auch ein zertifizierter Reiseführer ist.

Wir lassen Sie die Erfahrung leben und den Moment genießen. Auf dieser Tour erfahren Sie mehr über den Norden Ecuadors, seine Bräuche, Traditionen und Landschaften. Unser erster Halt wird am Lake San Pablo sein, wo wir eine spektakuläre Landschaft neben dem Vulkan Imbabura genießen werden. Wir werden auch die traditionellen Kekse mit Käse zusammen mit einem köstlichen heißen Kaffee probieren.
Unser zweiter Halt ist der wunderschöne Peguche-Wasserfall, umgeben von duftenden Eukalyptuswäldern, ein beliebter Ausflugsort voller Mystik und Geschichte, im Herzen der indigenen Gemeinde Faccha Llacta gelegen. Im Wasserfall „Manto Blanco“, den man nach einem kurzen Spaziergang erreicht, führen die Schamanen Zeremonien durch und reinigen andere Menschen von schlechter Energie. Die Peguche-Gemeinschaft ist eine große Handwerkswerkstatt, in der Taschen, Ponchos, Teppiche und Kunsthandwerk hergestellt werden. Es werden auch Musikinstrumente hergestellt.
Unser letzter Stopp wird in der Stadt Otavalo sein. Hier besuchen wir den traditionellen und farbenfrohen Markt der Ponchos, der 96 km von Quito entfernt liegt und aufgrund der Vielfalt und Qualität der angebotenen Produkte als Hauptstadt des ecuadorianischen Kunsthandwerks gilt an die Besucher. Es ist international bekannt für seinen traditionellen indigenen Kunsthandwerksmarkt. Der Ponchos-Markt gilt als die größte indigene Messe in Südamerika, auf der mehr als dreitausend Kunsthandwerker ihre Produkte anbieten. Es ist zu einem Ort der Konzentration des Kunsthandwerksangebots Ecuadors geworden. Es gibt farbenfrohe Wollponchos und Teppiche aus der nahe gelegenen Gemeinde Peguche, handgewebte Schafwollsäcke, verschiedene in Cotacachi hergestellte Lederprodukte, handgefertigte Keramikmasken, Tischdecken, Taschen, Hüte, Geldbörsen und anderes typisches Kunsthandwerk des Ortes. Bevor wir nach Quito zurückkehren, werden wir schließlich ein köstliches und traditionelles Mittagessen probieren.

Wir kommunizieren per WhatsApp, um vor Beginn der Tour grundlegende Anweisungen zu geben und den Treffpunkt zu koordinieren. Die Tour erfolgt mit privaten Verkehrsmitteln in einem weißen Chevrolet Grand Vitara mit allen Biosicherheitsmaßnahmen. Für diese Tour ist das Tragen bequemer Kleidung und Schuhe sowie Sonnencreme erforderlich.

Andres was a great guide, very knowledgeable and personal. We enjoyed our tour very much.
The trip was amazing, highly recommend!!! We had a lovely time with our guide Andres who showed us local spots in and around Otavalo. The highlight for us was the time at the textile market at the end of the trip, such a unique experience and came home with amazing handcrafted goods we'll keep forever :)
We had a wonderful day touring Otavalo with Andres! He was so accommodating and took exceptional care of us! We enjoyed not just the market but also the hike and delicious snack by the lake. Andres was flexible in catering to our interests, and sharing his knowledge of the region and culture. His genuine kindness was appreciated! I would not hesitate to recommend him to others.
This trip was spectacular! I think because it’s a private tour, the guide really takes into account individual preferences and really makes this excursion extra special for everyone on the trip. He was a fantastic guide, a great photographer, and gave us a true tour of the history and culture. I would absolutely do more tours with him and recommend this to everyone!

The clear itinerary made it easy to know what to expect, and our guide Andrés had great rapport both with the us, our other guest, and all the locals we encountered on the trip. This tour with Andres was such a big disappointment! My advice — find another guide. We paid extra for a private tour so we could have a little flexibility & got the opposite. We were met with rude & controlling behavior, got angry when we asked for bathroom breaks or walk to ATM, and we even feared for our safety when he was driving - angrily shouting out at all the “crazy” people. We didn’t get to choose or buy the Biscochos & coffee ourselves since he brought them himself with tea in a thermos, we didn’t have enough time at the market since we were rushed, we didn’t stop for lunch, and he didn’t stop at the churches just a few blocks down from Ponchos Square, as we had previously asked & he had agreed to beforehand. Again, a huge disappointment for our one & only time to experience Otavalo Market, all due to this angry, infantile guide ☹️
My excellent service is reflected in my reviews. In several years of work, I've never had a problem with any client, and I'm truly surprised to read this negative comment after almost a month. I'm not going to say anything bad about my clients, but we did the tour without any issues that day. All the activities were carried out, including extra activities that weren't included. They asked me to take them to their hotel and then drop them off at another hotel, which I gladly did. It was raining heavily that day, and they even gave me a tip and thanked me for everything. I don't understand this comment at all. Please read the itinerary carefully. I don't want to have this kind of problem again. It is clear that they intend to harm my work, for no reason whatsoever. I even have photos as backup from that day.
Our trip to Otavalo with Andres was excellent. Andres is a very knowledgeable guide. His English is excellent and he navigated us from Quito to the lake, waterfall, and market very well. One of the highlights of the trip was visiting the home of a family that Andres knew that has been hand weaving blankets and other garments for generations. We would highly recommend booking Andres for a trip to Otavalo, the largest indigenous market in Latin America.
Andres was very helpful. He helped sourced for us a large 1.5mx1m Ecuadorian wool tapestry that was very difficult to find. The visit to the Otavalo market and the surrounding area is an interesting way to know more about the indigenous people. Andres was punctual, polite and very helpful, so THANK YOU!

We had a great day visiting Otovalo and area, the biscuits and cheese served with tea at the lake was a fun first stop. The waterfall was beautiful and the community there very friendly. Otovalo market, lunch and coffee to end the day was everything we expected and more! Andres is a great guide, very friendly and knowledgeable, we really enjoyed our day!
