We had a ton of fun, and it was interesting to learn about how mochi is actually made!
Exactly as advertised. We pounded and ate mochi. It was awesome. The staff was really friendly and gave the historical context of mochi making and eating in Japan.
The 3 hosts, Haruka, Misaki and Ruina were highly enthusiastic, professional, knowledgeable and warm. They made the event enjoyable. There were opportunities for young and old to try pounding the glutinous rice and to enjoy the mochi with assortment of sweet and savoury toppings. The hosts were helpful in taking pictures of us. After the event, They offered information of Osaka and recommended restaurants to try. The venue easily accessible - a pleasant walk along the river.
Aiko, Pari, and Tati were all very friendly, helpful and patient through the whole process. They made the whole experience an amazing time
Mochi Pounding was an experience with a difference. You joined in the making of Mochi and then got to each your work. There was many flavours to try, or mixing them together which made the consumption of your hard work even more enjoyable.
Very friendly and upbeat staff, you get to make your own and try different common flavours in Japan to see what you liked.
Family of 4, full group was 8 people. Two hosts teaching us about the history or mochi (briefly) and then we all pounded glutinous rice into mochi. Then we made 8 little balls and dipped each of them in an assortment of flavours - they were all delicious. A great way to spend an hour, timed as an afternoon snack.
We made mochi with Haruka, Michi, and Misaki, and it was so fun! They were kind and funny, and even though we had eaten mochi before, they still went through the historical facts and explanations of how mochi is made, the ways it can be eaten, etc. And then we got to make mochi! They made sure we got to have every part of the experience and made it really enjoyable. We were so into it we forgot about pictures but they always asked us for our phones to take videos and photos for us. All in all, a fun brief experience that ends with eating delicious mochi. Yoi-sho!
Excellent experience! The crew was attentive, good humored, informative, and just overall wonderful. Despite eating mochi my whole life, I still learned things from them!
Amazing instructors of the class! They made us feel incredibly welcomed. I felt very comfortable to try new things. The instructors are very hospitable and answered any questions we had about making mochi and about Japan in general. Would highly recommend this class for singles, couples, and families!
