Matt was a wonderful instructor. I was super scared but he was very calm and patient and gave me the confidence to conquer my fear and complete the experience.

We had a snaffoo with our booking (I accidentally booked on the day we were supposed to fly home) and Dive Maui was able to accommodate and squeeze us in. Matt was our dive master and he was fantastic. He answered a lot of our questions and was able to articulate instructions and give clarity. He took us out to the pier and we got to see a lot of sea life. We saw turtles, the state fish, trumpet fish, a giant frog fish, and white tipped shark. I highly recommend Matt. He’s chill and works with you so that you have a great experience! Highly recommend this place!

I'm a former PADI instructor and with my wife (Padi advanced diver ) we decide to take our 12 years old daughter to do ( for her 5th) DSD. Matt was an outstanding guide, and very well prepared, and took care my daughter extremely well. The only disappointment was the lack of the transportation between the dive shop and dive site, as we had to walk with the full tank for about 2 blocks. I believe a cart for the tanks would had made our experience much more pleasant.

First things first.....Sean was AWESOME! Having done several intro to diving courses from California to the Bahamas and previously on Maui, this was the BEST and second is not even close. Here's why....yes you have to do all of the beginner dive things which takes time but Sean made the in person part almost fun. The skills are so critical tho so getting through them and being able to show ability while submerged 10 feet are life savings required skills. Once we got into the dive off of the hurricane destroyed wharf, the visuals were second to none! From fish to sea turtles to spotted rays and maybe even a glimpse of a reef shark. What an amazing treasure. Can't explain enough how absolutely worth it this dive is no matter your level! My kids were first time divers and said this was the best thing we did....and we literally did everything this trip including surfing twice. Don't hesitate to book this adventure! Sean was awesome. He made everyone feel comfortable but was also entertaining and approachable. He had good attention to safety and was patient for first time divers.

We don’t like leaving negative reviews because we know how important reviews are to a business. But we also wanted to share our experience to help the business and better inform other families. Our family booked a beginner scuba lesson and Matt was our instructor. It seemed like Matt was having a bad day. From the beginning, Matt did not seem like he wanted to be there. He seemed impatient and rushed. He covered the necessary safety requirements of the dive and the gear. When we asked questions it seemed to annoy him. My wife and I shared a few looks to each other like “ what is his deal?, this is supposed to be fun.” Fast forward and we’re on the surface of the water preparing to dive. Our son was nervous, as this was his first dive, and was having a hard time getting used to all the gear and wasn’t ready to go down. My wife and were busy reassuring him while Matt was telling him to hurry as we need to get to the bottom of the ocean soon. After he said it a few more time I looked at Matt and reminded his this was his first dive and Matt should be patient. His lack of guidance and poor attitude did not help my son’s confidents at all. Fortunately, our son is a trooper and after 3-5 minutes he pushed through it and got to the bottom. And as a family we enjoyed swimming underwater. After the dive Matt apologized and said there is a lot of liability in these dives. I wanted to tell him that was no excuse, as this should have been a fun adventure, but I didn’t see the point. Reading the other reviews about the shop and Matt I see many positive reviews, so our experience may have been a fluke. But for our family of first time divers, it was less than we expected.
