Elafonisi & Milia Mountain – Jeep-Tour mit Liegestühlen und Mittagessen

Our Elafonisi and Milia Mountain excursion was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Crete. A huge thank you to our guide, Dimitris, who made the entire experience unforgettable. He is incredibly knowledgeable, well-educated and clearly very well-travelled. His passion for Crete shines through in everything he shares and his positive energy, sense of humour and enthusiasm made the journey just as enjoyable as the destinations themselves. He struck the perfect balance between providing fascinating insights and creating a relaxed, fun atmosphere throughout the day. The tour was also exceptionally well organised. We were kept well hydrated with plenty of complimentary bottled water available throughout the trip, which was especially appreciated in the Cretan heat. Elafonisi Beach is simply breathtaking. The crystal-clear turquoise waters, soft pink-tinged sand and stunning natural scenery make it an absolute must-visit when you're in Crete. Milia Mountain Retreat was equally impressive. Nestled in the mountains, it's a truly unique and peaceful place with spectacular surroundings. The traditional food we enjoyed there was outstanding - fresh, authentic and absolutely delicious. If you're visiting Crete, I couldn't recommend this excursion highly enough. With incredible locations, amazing food and a guide like Dimitris bringing the island to life, it was an experience we'll remember for years to come.

We had an absolutely amazing day on the Elafonisi & Milia Mountain Jeep Tour. From start to finish, the experience exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, Nickolas, was outstanding, friendly, engaging, incredibly knowledgeable, and a very safe driver. He really thought of everything, from cooling the vehicle down before we got back in to providing plenty of cold water throughout the day, as well as delicious local snacks. We learned so much about the history, culture, and landscape of Crete, which made the journey just as enjoyable as the destinations themselves. The stop at Elafonisi Beach was stunning, and having reserved sun loungers waiting for us made the experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. The visit to Milia Mountain Retreat was truly special. The setting was beautiful and authentic, and the meal was without a doubt the best food we have had during our trip to Greece. It was a real highlight of our holiday. This tour perfectly combined adventure, relaxation, local culture, and incredible food. We cannot recommend it highly enough. Really loved our tour with our guide Nasos from Chania Adventure. We got to the most beautiful beach (Elefonisi) early before the crowds and then headed to the mountains for a spectacular lunch. Seemed like we won the day compared to other tours we saw.

An 8 hour journey that was captivating from the moment we left Chania thanks to Nicholas our guide! First stop (with the reserved loungers and umbrella) on the beautiful pink sands of Eafonisi Beach to the astoundingly delicious meal at milia…a hidden mountain treasure. Don’t miss this one!

We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Nicholas. We started out from Hania and made our way to Elafonisi and picked up 2 more passengers. After introductions were done we continued on. Nicholas related to us the lay of the land and a little bit of history, Also a great lesson on the bees and honey! Nicholas made everything seamless with his knowledge, friendly personality and willingness to accommodate us 5 ladies. The topper of the tour was the delicious lunch provided by Melia Restaurant! We had an amazing time with our tour guide Yiannis who took utmost care of us. Since we were the only two people taking that tour on that day, it ended up being a private tour but still we were not rushed anywhere. Elafonnisi beach was extremely windy on that day, but the pink hue in the sand and crystal clear shallow water were very inviting and we walked across the water to reach a little island across the water. The mountain retreat was worth viewing the island from all the way up top and this part can't be reached without this jeep. We had relaxing vegetarian lunch (which is what we had requested) at the mountain retreat, then we made a stop at the Topolia gorge, took lots of photos everywhere and finished our day very nicely.

What an incredible experience! Nasos was a wonderful guide who shared his deep knowledge and love of Crete with us. We initially signed up for the beach, but Milia mountain ended up being our favorite. Having the dedicated beach loungers was huge. The place filled up fast. The food we had at the stop in Milia was as good as were had anywhere else in Crete. Cannot recommend enough!
