Dr. William Edward Burgardt gilt als Vater des Panafrikanismus. Er wurde vom ersten Präsidenten Ghanas, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, nach Ghana eingeladen, um eine Enzyklopädie der afrikanischen Geschichte herauszugeben, und erhielt ein Zuhause, in dem er bis zu seinem Tod mit seiner Frau leben konnte. Sein Zuhause ist heute ein Museum, das als W.E.B Du Bois Centre bekannt ist. Im Zentrum sind die persönlichen Gegenstände von Dr. Du Bois, Ehrenpreise und zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen in seiner Bibliothek ausgestellt. In der Mitte befinden sich auch sein Grab und die eingeäscherte Leiche seiner Frau.
Im Jahr 1961, während des Besuchs von Königin Elisabeth II. und Prinz Charles in Ghana, ließ der erste Präsident Ghanas, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, den schwarzen Sternplatz, auch Unabhängigkeitsplatz genannt, in Auftrag geben. Auf dem Platz konnten die Gäste den Unabhängigkeitsbogen, das Schwarzsterntor und das Befreiungsdenkmal besichtigen. Das Gelände ist ein sehr großer, von Tribünen begrenzter Freiraum, der etwa 30.000 Menschen Platz bietet. Es wurde zum Gedenken an die Unabhängigkeit Ghanas als Symbol der Eigenständigkeit und als Ort der nationalen Einheit errichtet. Der Raum wird für andere nationale, religiöse und kommerzielle Veranstaltungen wie politische Kundgebungen und Unterhaltungskonzerte genutzt.
Der Arts and Craft Market ist eine Gemeinschaft von Ständen, an denen von der ghanaischen Kultur inspiriertes Kunsthandwerk und Souvenirs wie Kente-Tücher, Perlen, Schnitzereien und viele andere Accessoires zum Kauf angeboten werden. Die Gäste haben die Möglichkeit, von Stand zu Stand zu gehen, um einige Erinnerungsstücke als Erinnerung an ihren Besuch in Ghana zu schätzen und zu kaufen. Auch die Verkäufer stehen den Gästen jederzeit zur Verfügung und sind bereit, sie zu überzeugen, um die Gäste davon zu überzeugen, ihre Waren in Betracht zu ziehen, da ähnliche Artikel auch von verschiedenen Verkäufern am selben Ort erhältlich sind.
Gäste würden das Kwame Nkrumah Museum/Gedenkpark besuchen. Es ist die letzte Ruhestätte des ersten Präsidenten Ghanas, der Gold Coast von der Kolonialherrschaft befreite. Das Museum beherbergt die persönlichen Gegenstände und Veröffentlichungen von Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in verschiedenen Phasen seines Lebens, von der Kindheit über sein politisches Leben bis zu seinem Sturz und Tod. Es gibt einige Bilder und Videos, die seine Lebensgeschichte mit einigen berühmten Persönlichkeiten auf der ganzen Welt zeigen. Die Prämisse war, wo Kwame Nkrumah stand, um Ghana für unabhängig zu erklären.

This was a good tour experience overall. My guide was Suwaibah. She coordinated my airport pickup, and accompanied me throughout the tour. Each stop was a good experience. The driver did a good job too. Only minor criticism is that Suwaibah was very soft spoken, which made it difficult to hear her at times. They dropped me off at my hotel afterwards, as promised.

I booked this tour after my visit to the Coast. The locals were very hospitable. I enjoyed Ghana Jollof better. Ghana is a beautiful country, has good food and nice People. I love how the artifacts were displayed at the Ghana national museum.

I did two tours with Pro Tour Africa and the Accra tour was included. This tour was focused on the political history of Ghana which is an interest of mine. My favourite site was the Kwame Nkrumah Museum. I had a great time in Ghana and this tour was a great way to conclude my stay in Ghana. I look forward to my next trip to Ghana.

This was a great tour with my Ghanaian family. We had a great tour and I was able to build up on the knowledge about the history of Ghana while visiting the Kwame Nkrumah Museum and the Independence Square. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Ghana and its people.

This was a great tour in Accra. We visited Dubois center, Black star square, Kwame Nkrumah mausoleum and the arts center. I got to buy a lot to Ghanian prints, beaded and slippers for my family and friends back home. Rashida really did well bargaining to get me the best prices for the things I got. We got some Banku and Tilapia at Chop shop in Osu when we were done. Overall it was a great day and Pro Tour Africa made it worth my time. Thank you for the great tour guys. :)
