We had a lovely ride with Victoria chatted non stop and she is certainly very proud of where she lives, the bikes are high standard and you are made to feel safe, we covered 18km and saw some beautiful scenery. The Forest Lagoon was a perfect way to relax our tired legs! We had lunch too in the lagoon a delicious lamb soup. I would highly recommend this company thank you!!
We had a wonderful time biking in Akureyri. Sigrún was very responsive and accommodating. I was hesitant about booking this tour because a few of us are not great bike riders. However, the electric bikes provided are really nice and we were able to go up the hills without much trouble. The tour started at the Forest Lagoon, went through dirt/gravel backroads and ended by riding through the city. The views were beautiful and we had frequent stops to learn about the city. The owners are so friendly. This is a must do!
Such a fun time biking through the forest, seeing Icelandic horses, and relaxing in the Forest Lagoon. I would highly recommend.
My wife and I, along with another couple, toured Akureyri on the Forest Lagoon e-bike tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, which was informative, interesting, and a great way to learn about the city. We especially appreciated the enthusiasm of our guides for showing us Akureyri — this was one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland!
This was a wonderful experience! We were 2 couples in our 70s who joined a family of 4. The tour guide, Sigrun, was wonderful at adapting the tour to make it enjoyable for the entire group. After a lesson and a brief learning curve, we found the e-bikes to be comfortable and mostly (hard starting the bikes on a hill for flatlanders from Indiana!) easy to ride. There were frequent stops to rest and take photos of the beautiful scenery. The air was so clean and fresh! We were contacted a day before the tour with directions to the meeting point, and afterwards with advice/help to return to the ship. We stayed after the tour and relaxed on the outdoor patio of the cafe with an adult beverage to enjoy the view and clean, fresh air. The facilities at the Forest Glen are great. Next time we hope to stay and enjoy the spa as well. Thank you Sigrun for a wonderful afternoon!
Super nice bike trip in the surrounding of Akureyri. Well organized, good bikes and with interesting stops in the area . If you have the time , take the lagoon visit well after the biking!
Thanks, it was nice and fund to have you:)
The lagoon was terrific but the real star was the ebike tour with Birkir. He was an amazing guide and took us everywhere. We saw so many things. Just the right pace and beautiful scenery. Don't miss out on doing this!
It was very nice to have you in the tour, so much fun:) My best, Birkir.
This was a fun afternoon with a very friendly, knowledgeable, local guide. Highly recommend this as a great way to see the gorgeous scenery around Akureyri.
We had a great time on this e-bike tour, it was the highlight of our few days in Iceland. We found out so much about the country, its people, their interests and how Iceland is moving forward. Very informative and great fun too. Our ride took us past the new Forest Lagoon development, through farm land, over bridges and into the beautiful Kjarnaskógur Forest. We ended up coming through the historic section of Akureyri and seeing original and reconstructed houses of great charm. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Many thanks to our guide for dropping us back to the Cruise Ship Terminal as it was getting close to departure time.
What a fantastic family experience we enjoyed on our trip to Akureyri. With a 16, 14 and 11 year old in tow we needed to find an active adventure... not a bus tour. This was perfect. The e-bikes were of excellent quality and very easy to use. Even with moderate fitness it is possible to use the bikes as the e-bike motor is enormously helpful. Our very welcoming and friendly hosts took time to fit each of us to a bike and get the seats just right height etc and ensure proper helmet fit. We were lucky enough to have 2 guides/hosts on our trip, for just for the five of us. This was fantastic as it meant the 16yo could ride far ahead and our youngest was looked after by the guide at the back. The vast majority of the trip was not on car roads, so there was no concern about road safety. Just riding though spectacular countryside with breathtaking scenery on dedicated bike tracks. At the end of the 2 hour bike ride our hosts had organised tickets to the adjacent Forest Lagoon and assisted us getting transport back to our cruise ship. The location of the bike tour/forest lagoon is about a 10 minute taxi ride from the cruise terminal and/or via a courtesy lagoon bus. It is easily managed as an indpendent tour (not booked through the ship). Should we return to Akureyi again (I hope so) we would 100% look to do this activity again and I highly recommend it.
