Die Bosporus-Brücke ist eine von zwei Brücken, die die Bosporus-Meerenge überspannen und die europäische und asiatische Seite Istanbuls verbinden. Sie erstreckt sich von Ortakoy auf der europäischen Seite bis nach Beylerbeyi auf der asiatischen Seite und wird manchmal als Erste Bosporus-Brücke bezeichnet.
bedeutet wörtlich "Jungfrauenturm" auf Türkisch. Der Name stammt von einer Legende: Der byzantinische Kaiser hörte eine Prophezeiung, die ihm sagte, dass seine geliebte Tochter im Alter von 18 Jahren von einer Schlange sterben würde. Also beschloss er, sie in diesen Turm zu stecken, der auf einem Felsen am Bosporus errichtet wurde, isoliert vom Land, damit keine Schlange sie töten konnte.
Der Turm im romanischen Stil wurde 1348 während einer Expansion der genuesischen Kolonie in Konstantinopel als Christea Turris (Turm Christi) erbaut. Der Galataturm war mit 66,9 m das höchste Gebäude in Istanbul, als er 1348 erbaut wurde.
Der Dolmabahçe-Palast ist ein Palastmuseum in Istanbul. Der Palast wurde im 19. Jahrhundert während der Zeit von Sultan Abdulmecid erbaut. Nach der Gründung der Republik wurde es bis 1949 als Präsidentenresidenz genutzt. Der Palast war bis 1984 für diplomatische Treffen geöffnet, als er in ein Museum umgewandelt wurde.
Rumeli Castle (Rumeli Hisarı) ist eine osmanische Festung aus dem Jahr 1452. Sie wurde vom osmanischen Sultan Mehmed II (Mehmed der Eroberer) in Vorbereitung auf die Eroberung von Konstantinopel erbaut. Das Schloss liegt am Ufer des Bosporus an seiner schmalsten Stelle mit etwa 660 Metern.
Der Beylerbeyi Sarayı (Beylerbeyi-Palast), der von einigen als Miniatur-Dolmabahçe-Palast, aber ohne Menschenmassen beschrieben wird, wurde von Sultan Abdülaziz in Auftrag gegeben, als kaiserliche Sommerresidenz zu fungieren. Mit 24 Zimmern, 6 Sälen und einem Hamam wäre es ein ziemliches Sommerhaus gewesen und wurde auch zur Bewirtung von Würdenträgern genutzt.
Von der Bosporus-Kreuzfahrt aus gesehen gleicht die Bosporus-Küste auf europäischer Seite einer Aneinanderreihung von Dörfern, jedes mit seinem eigenen Charakter und seinen eigenen Attraktionen, und genau das war es auch. Zwischen dem bodenständigen Beşiktaş und Chichi Kuruçeşme gelegen, macht Ortakoy, was sein Name vermuten lässt, und positioniert sich irgendwo in der Mitte (orta köy bedeutet auf Türkisch „mittleres Dorf“).
Die Festung Rumeli Fortress, die sich am europäischen Ufer des Bosporus und im nördlichsten Stadtteil von Istanbul befindet, ist ein markantes Denkmal.
Der Palast wurde von Sultan Abd-ul-Mejid I (1823–1861) in Auftrag gegeben und von den Architekten Garabet Amira Balyan und seinem Sohn Nigoğayos Balyan im neobarocken Stil entworfen. Das 1857 fertiggestellte Gebäude ersetzte einen zweistöckigen Holzpalast, der während der Regierungszeit von Mahmud I. (1696–1754) von seinem Großwesir Divittar Mehmed Pascha erbaut und dann nacheinander von Selim III. (1761–1808) und Mahmud II. ( 1785–1839).

We had a wonderful time on this dinner cruise in Istanbul. The hotel pick-up was on time and very convenient. The views at night were beautiful, and the atmosphere on the boat was lively.Dinner was tasty, and the live music plus Turkish dance shows made the evening really enjoyable. If you are visiting Istanbul, don’t miss this Bosphorus dinner cruise. The hotel transfer was easy, especially after a long day of sightseeing. The views during the cruise were great,Dinner was enjoyable, and the entertainment kept getting better throughout the evening. We loved the folk dances, but the belly dance performance was definitely the highlight. The energy on the boat was amazing, and everyone was clapping and dancing by the end.Excellent service and very good value for money.

No communication from the provider throughout. Found out cruise was cancelled 10 mins before it was meant to start. Only because we contacted Viator customer care when our hotel pick up hadn’t happened. Told it was due to bad weather which was untrue. Probably undersold as it was out of season in January, understandable. However some notice of the cancellation would have meant that my Husband’s 60th birthday night celebration could have been rearranged to something else rather than ruined. Buyer beware!!!!

Over all We enjoyed the evening . The appetiser starters were already laid out at each seat . However the main food was plain basic choices of either fish chicken or meatballs. Not particularly warm and presented. But considering the amount of guests and facilities available understandable. People arrived from as early as 7:30 until 9:00pm and it was confusing as to whether you should eat immediately or wait . ( it became apparent you started as and when you liked) . Between 1st and 2nd course we were served with 2 potato croquettes, and dessert a turkish cake The entertainment was good - 4 traditional dancers, 1 belly dancer and a very enthusiastic guy who sang along with music. You could go outside to take photos but it was difficult to do so through glass as there were many christmas lights on windows. The evening ended with dancing . In hindsight it was probably the wrong choice by us to see the sights of Istanbul ( no commentary either on major sights ) but a very pleasant evening . A day cruise would have been more appropriate.
