Reiseverlauf

We decided to trust this guided tour instead of going ourselves, and that was probably one of the best decisions we made during this trip in Scotland. Tabby is an amazing guide, she's very chatty, very funny, and made the whole thing just memorable. She filled the whole road trip with fun facts and legends and myths, and sometimes even gave us her own inputs, which was really welcome. The trip was 12 hours long, but between the stops and the conversations with the other people and the guide, we didn't felt like it lasted that long. We were also expecting a big bus, and we were pretty surprised with the small van that picked us up, but it made everything better, traveling with a small crowd. I would 100% recommend it.
Great spots on the tour! The pickup location was central and easy to find. The bus was comfortable and not giant. Our tour guide Tabbi was kind, humorous, and informative with various stories and folklores.
We throughly enjoyed our day trip tour to the Isle of Skye. Our tour guide (Callum) was excellent and very entertaining with lots of stories and information about the places we visited. We learnt a lot about the legends of fairies and giants on the way! We had lots of opportunities to stop and stretch our legs at various places along the way including Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Eilean Donan castle, Portree, the Fairy Pools and the Magic River (River Brittle). We even managed to fit in a quick visit to a small waterfall near Loch Ness at the end of the day where we saw salmon jumping the river... very special. Worth noting that although the path to the Fairy Pools is well laid, it can be quite steep at times so I'd recommend taking some decent walking shoes - the pebbles caused us all to skid a few times on the way down even with good shoes and a hiking pole. The waterfalls were worth the trek though! It takes about an hour to walk briskly there and back with a bit of time to take photos. The scenery was tremendous and well worth the visit alone - every corner was another magnificent view across the mountains. Highly recommend for families with teens looking for a day trip. There were only 16 people in our very modern minibus. We never felt cramped at all and could clearly hear all the commentary along the way. Highly recommend - well worth doing if you want to see Skye but can't justify a separate holiday away!
Tabby was a phenomenal tour guide! Told stories with a wonderful mix of history and whimsy. Kept spirits high while also keeping everyone on track for a long day of travel. Could really feel her passion for teaching travelers about Scotland and played great music which was a plus! Wonderful way to tour the Scottish Highlands in a day!
Hi, Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It’s fantastic to hear that Tabbie made your day on Skye so memorable. We love that you enjoyed her mix of history, humour and storytelling, as well as the music along the way. A long day on the road is all part of the adventure, and it's wonderful to know Tabbie kept the energy high while sharing her passion for Scotland with the group. We'll make sure your lovely feedback reaches Tabbie. Thanks again for choosing Highland Experience Tours, and we hope your next visit to Scotland gives you the chance to explore even more of what the Highlands have to offer! Tabbie was amazing!! Made the whole trip so worth it. Very informative, gave lots of interesting tid bits and things about Scotland's history and folklore on the bus drive, making the actual driving bit go very smoothly/quickly(she was also a very good driver which was nice since I can get quite motion sick). She was also just very kind and a lovely person to be around(also no trouble hearing her!). I would say it was very family friendly (there were 2 kids in our group so perhaps if there weren't it could be adjusted differently if a group wanted?). It did feel slightly short at some of the stops even though in theory it was a decent amount of time. But it was probably the most you could try and pack into a day trip. I definitely recommend it but if you have the budget for it, a longer tour after for the places you really loved, or just spending more time at the actual locations separately on your own time after getting all the good juicy bits from this tour. If you aren't interested in spending an insane amount of time looking at each little thing though and like to hear fascinating folklore from a proper local, this is the tour for you. Overall I thought it was definitely worth the price and I very much enjoyed myself. (And despite feeling like it was short I actually saw and did so so much). Maybe there could be a version with a longer time at the fairy pools and castles? Thats just my preference though since I like to take my time. Definitely recommend! And pls pls, ask for Tabbie!! She was so so amazing I cannot say it enough. She truly made the entire tour and I would do it again just for her.

Humorous, safe, relaxing, and knowledgeable.Steven from Inverness started our day with humor and ended our day with kind words. My favorite part? The sneaky surprise of feeding highland cows. I’ll let you hear him sing the song! 😂
