Reiseverlauf
Wir beginnen im Mossman-Gorge-Nationalpark, dem südlichen Teil des Daintree-Regenwaldes. Ihr Reiseleiter wird sein Wissen über die lokale Flora und Fauna mit Ihnen teilen und alle Ihre Fragen beantworten. Dies ist ein einfacher 500 m langer Hin- und Rückweg, der überwiegend über Holzstege verläuft. Wir genießen einen köstlichen Morgentee im Besucherzentrum Mossman Gorge. Sie haben die Wahl zwischen Kolbenkaffee oder Daintree-Tee mit einem traditionellen Dämpfer, serviert mit Marmelade, Honig und Sahne.
Als nächstes fahren wir entlang des Captain Cook Hwy durch die Gemeinde Mossman und vorbei an den Zuckerrohrfeldern bis zum Daintree Rainforest.
Am Daintree River begeben wir uns auf eine malerische Wildtierkreuzfahrt auf der Suche nach Schlangen, wunderschönen Vögeln und natürlich den mächtigen Salzwasserkrokodilen. Auf dem Rückweg am Nachmittag überqueren wir den Daintree River an Bord der berühmten Daintree-Fähre und genießen die wunderschöne Aussicht flussaufwärts und flussabwärts.
Sie genießen einen geführten Spaziergang entlang einer Promenade im Daintree-Nationalpark. Mit einer Fülle von Flora und Fauna zu entdecken, erhalten Sie ein echtes Verständnis davon, wie der Daintree Rainforest lebt. Dies ist eine leichte 650m Rückwanderweg.
Zum Mittagessen gehen wir zum On The Turps Restaurant in der Heritage Lodge. Genießen Sie ein köstliches, auf Bestellung zubereitetes Mittagessen in diesem Open-Air-Restaurant im Regenwald entlang des Cooper Creek.
Nach dem Mittagessen können Sie im Cooper Creek ein erfrischendes Bad nehmen. Dieser wunderschöne Regenwaldbach ist über einen Pfad vom Restaurant aus leicht zu erreichen und frei von Krokodilen. Entspannen Sie sich und genießen Sie die Ruhe.
Jetzt ist es an der Zeit, in Richtung Cape Tribulation aufzubrechen, der Gegend, die für das Sprichwort berühmt ist, wo der Regenwald auf das Riff trifft. Sie haben Zeit für einen Strandspaziergang oder zum Aussichtspunkt, einem geschichtsträchtigen Gebiet, das Ihnen von Ihrem sachkundigen Reiseleiter erklärt wird.
Auf dem Rückweg zum Daintree River machen wir Halt für Ice Cream mit tropischen Früchten aus der Region. Ein echter Genuss im Urlaub!
Machen Sie einen Halt am Alexandra Lookout, um die schöne Aussicht auf den Regenwald und eine atemberaubende Aussicht zu genießen, die sich in der Ferne über Cairns erstreckt.

Die Abholung beginnt im Port Douglas CBD ab 7:25 Uhr. Bitte seien Sie zu diesem Zeitpunkt außerhalb Ihrer Unterkunft bereit. Je nach Zeitplan können wir einige Minuten später bei Ihnen eintreffen. Overall the itinerary was good and covered the main highlights of the area without being rushed. Our tour guide Gavin was polite, informative, approachable and helpful. Insect repellent was provided which was an added bonus. The food provided was good. When walking in the creek Gavin offered his own flipflops for me to walk on the stones in the creek which reduced my discomfort significantly. As we went in early August we were lucky and managed to see 4 crocodiles. The Daintree ice cream offered a range of unique flavours made from exotic fruits growing in their orchards. We would highly recommend yellow sapote!

We had a wonderful day on this small group tour. Our guide was Peer and he was extremely knowledgeable and interesting as well as having a good sense of humour and being a talented photographer. He made sure that everyone in our group felt comfortable and had a good time and he went the extra mile offering to take photos of us and taking us to the best sight seeing vantage points. The trip itself also exceeded our expectations from the awesome sights to the delicious food we had along the way. I definitely recommend this tour and this company and Peer as a guide.
