Der aufregende Tag beginnt mit der Abholung von Ihrem Hotel durch einen Vertreter von Sanota Walkers. Anschließend besuchen Sie einen der hochverehrten Tempel Sri Lankas, den Gangarama-Tempel, der sich am berühmten und malerischen Beira-See mitten in der Stadt Colombo befindet. Der Gangarama-Tempel wurde vor ungefähr 120 Jahren gegründet und ist einer der wichtigsten buddhistischen Tempel in Sri Lanka. Der Tempel, der ursprünglich als kleine Einsiedelei auf einem sumpfigen Gelände im 19. Jahrhundert v. Chr. Erbaut wurde, hat sich zu einem international bekannten Kultort, einem Lernzentrum und einer Versammlungshalle für Mönche entwickelt beherbergt unter anderem ein Museum, eine Bibliothek und eine Reliquienkammer.
Seema Malaka ist ein buddhistischer Tempel in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Der Tempel wird hauptsächlich zum Meditieren und Ausruhen verwendet, nicht zum Anbeten. Der im Beira-See gelegene Tempel wurde ursprünglich im späten 19. Jahrhundert erbaut.

Kommen wir nun zu einem ganz besonderen Ort, der sich TheIndependence Squarelocated nennt und nur wenige Minuten vom alten Parlamentsgebäude entfernt ist. Dieses Gebäude wurde zum Gedenken an die Unabhängigkeit Sri Lankas von der Kolonialherrschaft erbaut und befindet sich an derselben Stelle, an der 1948 ein spezielles Podium errichtet wurde, um den Beginn der Selbstverwaltung und des neuen Parlaments in Sri Lanka zu feiern. Das Gebäude am Independence Square beherbergt auch ein Museum, das die Geschichte aller Personen zeigt, die für die Unabhängigkeit Sri Lankas kämpften und kämpften.

A great introduction to Colombo, our guide was well versed on the city and very informative. The tour did the top highlights of the city, and show cased the the interesting mix of temples and religions. The tour is recommended for those new to the city with limited time to self explore. Lunch was also great, an opportunity to try something local.

The pick-up from the port did not work, the statement “They will be picked up at the ship and the guide has a sign with their name” did not take place. The guide spoke only English , booked and promised was a German guide.

My driver was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He drove safely. The car was clean and AC to keep me cool. I visited many temples to experience the cultural life. I ate at a wonderful restaurant for lunch. We able to go to a store for survivors.

The driver was very knowledgeable of Hindi and Buddhists temples. The sights were fantastic. Even though the tour online it says approx 6 hours, we were informed that is actually 4 hours of tour then 1 hour of shopping which was not in the description. We did 4 1/4 hours and were exhausted, so it’s the right amount of touring. We recommend this tour.

Our city tour with Subash around Colombo was excellent and quite because of Independence Day, a nice lunch at a Curry restaurant,good local information and a very caring quire.
