Reiseverlauf

It was amazing! Our guide Johan was really engaging and had great tips and restaurant recommendations :) He took us to cool spots and didn’t rush through the tour. Overall, it was an informative two hours for me
We really enjoyed this tour. Johan was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor, and took us to some places we wouldn't have found on our own. We learned a lot about Arequipa in a short time. Highly recommend.
This was a really nice way to get to know this amazing city. I enjoyed our guide who took us around the centre to visit various houses and other places. He was knowledgable and presented well.
All in all - good value for the money. Nice walking trip around the city center for 2,5 hours. The only thing is that we already paid for the trip when we booked via Viator/ but the guide demanded 10-20 dollars or 30-60 sol per person as a tip - he mentioned several times and ended the tour on a rooftop so you would have to pass by him to go. NOT OKAY!!!!! I don’t mind paying tips - but don’t demand it and don’t tell me the amount.
Dear Danish traveller, first of all in Sout America is CUSTOMARY to tip the tour guides because that help a lot their families, and the guide suggested an amount because a lot of customers asked that severas time so its given an average as in Medellin Colombia or Quito Ecuador cities with same cost of life and when the customer enjoyed the tour as you wrote at the begining of the review you have an idea, but never he DEMANDED the tip he clearly always says those who want approach to him and when people leesve without leaving a tip as YOU did it he still smiles to all and thanks all as he did it with you, so please if next time if you dont like tiping even you receive a good servicio its OK but dont write biased reviews that are NOT ACCURATE. because that affects a guide that was all the time polite enthusiastic and kind with all the group even with the ones as you that dont like tiping. Thanks
Absolutely loved this walking tour! Our tour guide was super informative and witty! Was a great time and would definitely recommend.
Very entertaining and interesting tour. Really gave me insight on the city and even the country as a whole. I definitely recommend you do this tour before you do anything else in Arequipa. That way you can appreciate your other activities more.
The tour was informative, but it could have visited more sites. Many of the churches cannot be entered without paying. There were no drinks as described on the tour page.
The tour itself was good but it is actually a free walking tour. The next day we saw it advertised for free. At the end of the tour I was surprised that the guide asked for $10-$20/ per person in tips. I was surprised by that but makes sense now that I know most of the people were there for free
Very professional guide who explained information on the numerous stops on the walk clearly and concisely. Nice rooftop bar on the main square that we stopped at. Beautiful views over the city with the volcanoes as a beautiful back drop.
Really enjoyed this walking tour. As well as seeing lots of sights the guide also gave out a lot of suggestions of other things to see and do. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end the guide told us they expected tips the reason why and how much to tip. I come from a country that does not have a culture of tipping and don’t appreciate being told to tip and how much to tip.
