Die Burg, eine Festung in der Stadt Cartagena, wurde 1639 erbaut und befindet sich auf dem Hügel von San Lázaro.
Auf der Insel Manga befindet sich das Fort von San Sebastian del Pastelillo, in dem sich heute das berühmte Restaurant Club de Pesca befindet. An dieser Stelle befand sich das Fort von Boquerón, das 1741 von Admiral Vernon beim Angriff auf die Stadt Cartagena zerstört wurde. Zusammen mit anderen Festungen wie Fort San Jose und Fuerto de San Fernando kontrollierte es den Seeverkehr der Bucht, um mögliche Angriffe zu verhindern. Das Fort von San Sebastian del Pastelillo hat 31 Kanonen und die Tarnung wird am Boden erreicht. Der Name San Sebastian stammt von einem Heiligen, der der Schutzpatron der Eroberer war, und Pastelillo ist eine militärische Bezeichnung, die wie Gras bedeutet, also eine Burg, die sich dem Gelände anpasst.
15 Meter hoch und etwa 20 Tonnen Marmor kehrte die Skulptur der Virgen del Carmen am 6. Juni in die Bucht von Cartagena zurück, um eine mehr als 30-jährige Tradition fortzusetzen, die nach dem Zusammenbruch des Bildes im August 2015 unterbrochen worden war. Die emblematische Figur, deren Stücke aus italienischem weißem Marmor bei starkem Regen auf den Grund des Wassers fielen, wurde in einer mit der Nationalen Marine koordinierten Operation vom Meeresboden geborgen. Anlässlich des Festes der Virgen del Carmen am 16. Juli 1946 fand in Cartagena eine wunderschöne Prozession statt. In der Abschlussrede leitete er Pater Rafael García Herreros, der auf den Balkonen des heutigen Rathauses in der Nähe der Plaza de la Inquisición die Idee hatte, ein kolossales Bild der Jungfrau Maria vom Meer zu errichten Mitten in der Bucht. In der Sakristei des Klosters von Santo Domingo, in dem das Konzilseminar tätig war, wurde jede Woche ein Pro-Denkmal-Ausschuss eingerichtet. Mit Hilfe von Manuel Mainero, italienischer Konsul in Cartagena und Vertreter der Reederei „Italian Line“, wurde die Erstellung eines Marmorbildes mit der Unterschrift U. Luisi Heredi, Bildhauer von Pietra Santa, Einwohner Italiens in der Nähe von Pizza, verwaltet. Die Einweihung fand am 16. Juli 1958 statt. An diesem Tag lobte eine Menschenmenge, angeführt von Erzbischof José Ignacio López, die Jungfrau Maria in einer beeindruckenden Prozession, die von der Kathedrale abging und die Mauern entlang der Arsenal Avenue erreichte.

Zu Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts wurde beschlossen, die innere Bucht zu befestigen, und in einem königlichen Erlass von 1608 wurde der Bau einer Festung in Punta del Judío, Santa Cruz, angeordnet. Bekannt als Castillogrande, wurde es zwischen 1626 und 1636 nach dem Plan von Tiburcio Spanoqui von Cristóbal de Roda und Francisco de Murga erbaut. Es war eine Festung mit quadratischem Grundriss, in jeder der vier Ecken befanden sich Bollwerke, ein zentraler Waffenhof und ein Wassergraben. Als der Eingang von Bocagrande 1640 geschlossen wurde, änderte sich die Verteidigungsstrategie der Bucht, die sich auf den Eingang von Bocachica konzentrierte. Diese Tatsache wirkte sich auf die bestehenden Festungen der Bucht aus, die 1647 abgebaut wurden, um die Materialien für den Bau von San Luis de Bocachica wiederzuverwenden. Trotzdem überlebte Castillogrande bis zum französischen Angriff des Barons De Pointis im Jahr 1697, als es schwer ruiniert wurde. Juan de Herrera und Sotomayor betrachteten es als Schlüssel zur Verteidigung des Hafens. Daher leitete er 1728 dessen Wiederaufbau, der 1741 nicht abgeschlossen sein würde, als Vernon die Stadt angriff. Die Festung wurde teilweise zerstört und sollte nicht wieder aufgebaut werden. Ihre Überreste dienten fortan als Munition für die Artillerie. Diese Nutzung dauerte bis 1938, als eine Explosion in einer von der Marine dort unterhaltenen Munitionslagerstätte ihre Gewölbe zerstörte und nur einen Teil des Walles neben dem Hafen und anderen Überresten zurückließ. Es ist derzeit in die Einrichtungen des Offiziersklubs der Nationalen Marine integriert.

It was really fun! Specially at the beginning, they have a really fun DJ, but for what you pay I don't feel satisfied. No food! I thought I was buying dinner on a boat which is what I was looking for, but its fun for couples. The drinks were not great.

The boat is nice, they have a restroom, seats for everyone and only one part is covered with a roof. There is a DJ, two bartenders and two waiters. The ambiance is great, music, jokes, and a little pirate show before coming back. They provide guidance on how to find the boat in a very busy port, they send a picture of the ship and a picture of your guide. Our guide, Elkin, was the best photographer we could find, he took pictures, made videos, and helped us with every request. The drinks are included and unlimited. We went with a 3 year old and a 1 year old. If you go with kids, keep an eye on them since the boat has open spaces that a child could easily fit into and fall. They provide lifesaving vests upon request.
NOT recommended for children - It is a scam We did the "Black Pearl II" activity with my children expecting something pirate-themed. Out of 2 hours, only 10 minutes were for children. The rest is for adults: rude language, sexual content, and drinking competitions between the DJ and the attendees. There were 10 bored children exposed to an inappropriate environment. My children left saying: "I am disappointed. This is a scam". Zero education, zero pirate theme, just noise. Now I have to explain to my son swear words he learned there. It is a SCAM to get people onto the boat. Do not bring children. NOT for kids - Total SCAM We did the "Black Pearl II" activity with my kids expecting a pirate experience. Out of 2 hours, only 10 minutes were for children. The rest is for adults: rude language, sexual content, and drinking contests between the DJ and guests. There were 10 kids onboard, all bored and exposed to an inappropriate environment. My kids said: "I'm disappointed. This is a scam." No teaching, no pirate theme, just noise. Now I have to explain new swear words my son learned there. They just pack the boat with people. Do NOT take children. NOT suitable for children - rip-off We did the "Black Pearl II" tour with my children and expected a pirate activity. Out of 2 hours, only 10 minutes were for children. The boat is beautiful. I believe we were lucky that few people went up to our reservoir; besides my family and me (4 people), only another family of 4, two couples, and a single guy went up. This allowed us to do many activities such as raising the sails and participating in the pirate ship battle. It is all-you-can-drink, and it is totally worth it; the drinks are very good and strong, but that is what one looks for in an all-you-can-drink. I loved the music, all the decorations, and they also lend you pirate hats and plastic swords for taking photos. The crew is not only perfect for setting the party atmosphere, but they are also excellent for taking photos; they helped us take incredible pictures that we will keep as memories. The service was very pleasant; one would expect that because it is all-you-can-drink, they would take a long time to bring or serve the drinks, but quite the opposite; even before you finish your drink, they offer you another one, and I loved that. We had a cloudy day, but even so, the views of the coast and the city are beautiful; the navigation does not feel turbulent, and it is an excellent plan to party in a relaxed way with family. Totally recommended.
The tour is very delicious and the hours fly! The people who were working were extremely dear to me and my family. We are Brazilians and we did not master 100% of Spanish, but the team made a lot of efforts to serve us in the best way possible. They were very caring, especially with my father. The included drinks could have a better quality, especially we didn't like them very much hahahaha. Other than that, the walk and the climate are amazing! The DJ got too much on the chosen songs. We were very happy and grateful for this afternoon surrounded by good people, excited and happy!
The pirate ship boat tour was a wonderful experience with beautiful views and a stunning sunset. It was such a relaxing time, and I highly recommend it for couples looking to enjoy a peaceful and memorable outing. The crew members on the ship were very helpful and made the whole experience even better. Overall, it was a fantastic way to unwind and take in the scenery.
