Diese Tour kombiniert die beliebte Franschhoek Straßenbahn und ermöglicht auch einen Besuch der historischen Stadt Stellenbosch in einer einzigartigen Umgebung. Wir haben unsere Weinverkostungsstopps sorgfältig ausgewählt, um eine perfekte Balance zwischen denjenigen zu ermöglichen, die auf der Suche nach historischer Architektur sind, und Instagrammable-Fotosuchenden zu den kritischsten Weinkennern der Welt. Die Abholung erfolgt von Ihrem Hotel in Kapstadt und damit auch die Rückgabe. Nachdem Sie von Ihrer Unterkunft in Kapstadt abgeholt wurden. Sie fahren auf der Autobahn N2 durch die Cape Flats in die bergige Stadt Stellenbosch. Während der Fahrt wird Ihr Reiseleiter einen Kommentar über die wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten geben, an denen Sie vorbeifahren werden. Bei Ihrer Ankunft in Stellenbosch haben Sie die Möglichkeit, aus dem Fahrzeug zu steigen und die malerische und gemütliche Stadt zu Fuß zu entdecken. Endemische kapholländische Gebäude fließen parallel zu den grünen Straßen von Stellenbosch und über 150 Jahre alte Wasserfurchen bilden eine Vorfahrt für den nordöstlichen sanften Hang der Stadt. Alte und neue Geschäfte handeln mit Kunst, Antiquitäten, Schmuck und geschnitztem Holz. Vielleicht möchten Sie diese Gelegenheit auch nutzen, um einen Kaffee zu trinken und die lebendige Energie der Stadt zu absorbieren, bevor Sie zu Ihrer ersten Weinprobe des Tages übergehen.
Nach der schnellen Erkundung der Stadt Stellenbosch ist der nächste Halt im Weingut Lanzerac für Ihre Schokoladen- und Weinverkostung. Lanzerac ist eines der ältesten Weingüter in Stellenbosch und umfasst etwa 200 Hektar Land am Fuße des Jonkershoek-Gebirges. Das schöne Weingut ist unter vielen Attributen bekannt, weil es die besten Beispiele für die endemischen kapniederländischen Architekturgebäude in der Welt hat. Das Herrenhaus aus den 1830er Jahren hat einen Status als Provinzerbe und bildet zusammen mit den Weinbergen und dem Weinkeller eine typisch französische Tradition der Fusion von Landhotel und Weingut. Auf Lanzerac wurde Pinotage zum ersten Mal abgefüllt. Ihre Erfahrung hier wird jedoch nichts mit dem einzigen südafrikanischen Wein zu tun haben, sondern eine einzigartige Verkostung von 5 Premium-Weinen, perfekt gepaart mit einer Auswahl an handwerklichen Schokoladen. Die Pralinen sollen Ihnen die verschiedenen Winkel der Textur des Weins vorher und nachher zeigen.
Von Lanzerac fahren Sie den hügeligen und kurvenreichen Höllenpass hinauf und hinunter nach Tokara. Im Gegensatz zum historischen Lanzerac ist Tokara bekannt für sein modernes Aussehen, Aussichten, die sich bis zum Tafelberg erstrecken, und eine Olivenrinne, die einige der besten Olivenöle der Region produziert. Die Weinprobe hier besteht aus 5 klassischen Weinen, darunter eine Rose und einer der besten Carbert Sauvignon in der Gegend, die seit 2 Jahrzehnten seit der Jahrhundertwende naturverbunden ist. Die tiefen Böden, die aus zersetztem Granit und verwittertem Sandstein bestehen, bieten Tokara das Privileg, einzelne Chargen anzubauen, die dann zu Spitzenweinen vermischt werden. Der Tokara Weinberater teilt Ihnen alle Informationen der Weine mit, wie Sie sie individuell probieren und sollten Sie Zeit haben, sollten Sie auch die Olivenöle oder sogar eine Käseplatte probieren. Wir behalten uns das Recht vor, einen alternativen Stopp einzulegen, sollte Tokara für private Veranstaltungen ausgebucht oder geschlossen sein
Nach Ihrer zweiten Weinprobe führt uns die Reise über die historische Stadt Pniel nach Franschhoek. Viele Bauern aus Frankreich tauchten in den 1680er Jahren am Kap auf und erhielten hier anschließend Land für den Anbau von Weinbergen und so wurde die Stadt als Franschhoek, also die Ecke der Franzosen, bekannt. Umgeben von Bergen und gepflegten Weinbergen auf allen Seiten, Franschhoek gibt einem eine schöne Korrelation von Natur und menschlicher Arbeit. Das wunderschön gestaltete Leeu-Anwesen, bestehend aus Kunstgalerien, Hotel und Restaurants, hinterlässt einen mit brennendem Wunsch, noch viel länger hier zu bleiben. Wir werden hier eine Mittagspause einlegen und Sie können auch diese Gelegenheit nutzen, um die Geschäfte zu erkunden, diese Stadt würde nicht enttäuschen. Genau wie in Stellenbosch findet man hier Kunstläden, Schmuckgeschäfte, Edellederläden, Bekleidungsgeschäfte oder auch feine Schokoladenfabriken!
Kurz nach der Mittagspause und der Erkundung von Franschhoek geht die Tour weiter zu den Terminals in Franschhoek, wo Sie mit der Straßenbahn die zweite Etappe Ihrer Weinprobe erleben. Ihr Reiseleiter gibt Ihnen Ihre Straßenbahntickets und erklärt Ihnen, wie Sie den Fahrplan der Straßenbahn lesen. Normalerweise dauert die Fahrt mit der Straßenbahn zwischen den Bauernhöfen etwa 8 Minuten. Sie können aus der Liste der auf Ihrer Route bereitgestellten Bauernhöfe an einem Bauernhof Ihrer Wahl aussteigen. Zwei sind die maximale Anzahl an Höfen, die Sie mit der Straßenbahn erreichen können, Sie können aber auch einen dritten besuchen, wenn es die Zeit erlaubt.
Ihr erster möglicher Halt mit der Straßenbahn wäre der erste von Frauen geführte Bauernhof in Franschhoek, Rickety Bridge. Die Straßenbahn setzt Sie an den Rickety Bridge-Terminals ab, wo Sie von einem Ackerschlepper mit bequemen Sitzen abgeholt und zum Weinverkostungsbereich gebracht werden. Hier sind Sie herzlich willkommen, eine der angebotenen Weinproben zu wählen. Sie können sich auch von der Weinprobe abmelden und stattdessen in Paulinas Restaurant Platz nehmen, wo Sie einen Snack, Kaffee oder ein Glas Wein bestellen und den Panoramablick auf die Berge und die Weinberge des Franschhoek-Tals genießen können.
Franschhoek Keller ist eine der Farmen in den Weingebieten von Kapstadt, die den einzigartigen Wein und Käse oder handgemachte belgische Schokoladenpaarungen anbietet. Die belgische Schokolade wird in derselben Stadt hergestellt, ebenso der Wein. Eine traditionelle Weinprobe ist auch verfügbar, sollte das eine bessere Wahl für Sie sein. Der Franschhoek-Keller ist auch der nächstgelegene zu den Straßenbahnhaltestellen und wenn Sie nach einem ganzen Tag mit mehreren Weinproben die Beine ausstrecken möchten, können Sie tatsächlich zu den Terminals laufen, um Ihren Reiseleiter und den Rest der Gruppe zu treffen.
Auf dem Rückweg nach Kapstadt haben Sie die Möglichkeit, in einem Gefängnis zu bleiben, in dem Nelson Mandela die letzten 2 Jahre seiner 27 Jahre in Haft verbrachte. Eine lebensgroße Bronzestatue dieses großen Mannes steht vor den Toren des Gefängnisses, mit in die Luft geballter Faust, als ob sie Stärke und Mut symbolisieren würde. Ihr Reiseleiter wird Ihnen eine kurze Zusammenfassung über die Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und die Freilassung Nelson Mandelas geben, bevor Sie weiter nach Kapstadt fahren, um in Ihrem Hotel abgesetzt zu werden.

Simply put this was great. Our guide, Joseph, was awesome. He's friendly, very knowledgeable about the area, the history and the wines and he just makes you feel comfortable throughout the who day. We had a small intimate group for this tour which made it better as we bonded really well. For me, Lanzerac Wine Estate near Stellenbosch was the standout. With each of the wines, I chose to have chocolates with each wine. They paired the chocolates to the wine very well. The history behind the wines and the farm made it more real. Tokara wine estate is a very modern place which added a different ambience from Lanzerac. We then headed to Franschhoek and Leeu estate where we had lunch and another selection of wines. This was a good place to stop. As we were in a small group, we were relaxed, chatty and the lunch was good. After that we jumped on the Franschhoek wine tram which is ok. I'm judging it harshly as I am from Melbourne. But as the Franschhoek wine tram serves the wine estates, its a nice thing to travel on. We stopped at the Franschhoek Cellar for our final tasting. For me personally, Lanzerac Wine Estate was the pick of the bunch. I'm no expert on wines but I can taste the difference in each of them. Ultimately it was Joseph who made our day enjoyable. Aside from his knowledge, his personality filled the car and made us feel comfortable and we had a lot of laughs. Thanks mate!!

It was convenient to be picked up from my hotel and driven around the wine country. We stopped at four delightful vineyards and tried exquisite wines. The experience was delightful: our guide was knowledgable and the other guests made for a memorable experience. 12 international students riding high on wine were singing Sweet Caroline, Its a Kind of Magic, Country Roads, and other bangers after a day of beautiful vistas, friendly conversation, and fine wine. 12/10, highly recommended!

I was really looking forward to this tour and it didn’t disappoint. Candy (our guide) arrived on time and was very friendly. During the tour she shared great facts about the cities and towns and shared a lot about herself and life in Cape Town. She was personable and got to know each of us and made sure we interacted with each other creating a little family of friends. She gave great suggestions and and had us laughing the entire time!! Last week my sister and I had an absolutely incredible time with Peter leading us through a day of wine tasting. The wines and scenery were fantastic, but it was really Peter who made the trip what it was. When he wasn’t acting as our personal photographer, he joked around with us and was also very insightful about life in South Africa. If you want to visit the best vineyards and hit the tram in one tour, snag this one with Kevin. He drove and entertained us with stories! I am a wine snob and bought several bottles at Duty Free because the wine is that good, especially Boschendal and Tokara. 10/10 recommend 🥰

We had such a lovely day wine tasting in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek! Peter was our guide and he did the best job. The wineries were wonderful and the scenery was gorgeous. We also loved stopping to see where Nelson Mandela spent his last years of imprisonment before making the long walk to freedom. Such a wonderful day in Cape Town!
