Betty's Bay ist eine Küstenstadt eine Stunde östlich von Kapstadt. Es war eine Walfangstation in den späten 1800er Jahren. Später wurde er durch seinen ungewöhnlichen Bewohner bekannt: den afrikanischen Pinguin! Die Pinguine ließen sich im 20. Jahrhundert am Strand von Stoney Point nieder. Dies machte Stoney Point zu einer von 2 Pinguinkolonien auf dem Festland. Die Gäste haben etwas Zeit, um am Pinguinstrand entlang zu spazieren und die Pinguine aus nächster Nähe zu sehen.
Es wäre eine Ungerechtigkeit, durch eine der besten Weinregionen des Landes zu fahren und nicht anzuhalten. Die Hemel n Aarde (Weinregion liegt sowohl nah am Meer als auch höher als die Cape Winelands. Dies ist das perfekte Klima für die Rebsorte mit kühlem Klima. Dies bedeutet Weine mit subtiler, knackiger Säure, einem leichteren Körper, und helle Fruchtaromen.Das Tal ist in der Lage, einige der besten Pinot Noirs und Chardonnay-Weine des Landes zu produzieren.Ihre Weinprobe im Hamilton Russell wird Sie nicht enttäuschen.
Nach der Weinprobe geht es weiter in Richtung Hermanus. Eine malerische Küstenstadt, die auch Südafrikas Hauptstadt der Walbeobachtung ist. Wale können hier jedes Jahr zwischen den Monaten Juni und November vom Walpfad entlang der Küste gesichtet werden. Hermanus ist auch als eine der gastronomischen Städte Südafrikas bekannt und Sie können hier zu Mittag essen, bevor die Tour nach Südosten in Richtung Elim führt.
Von Cape Agulhas führt uns unsere Reise durch ein malerisches Dorf namens Elim. Elim wurde 1824 von deutschen Siedlern gegründet. Es war der 3. mährische Bahnhof in der Nähe von Kapstadt und hat sich im Laufe der Jahre kaum verändert. Reihen von weiß getünchten, strohgedeckten Cottages säumen die Straßen dieses charmanten Dorfes. Und alle von Feigenbäumen gesäumten Straßen führen zur Kirche! Sie haben Zeit, um herumzulaufen und den kleinen Rosengarten der Stadt zu besuchen.
3 Stunden südöstlich von Kapstadt liegt die südlichste Spitze des afrikanischen Kontinents: Cape Agulhas. Hier kollidiert der warme Indische Ozean mit dem eisigen Atlantik. Die zerklüftete Küste beherbergt über 21 000 Feuchtgebiete und Seevögel verschiedener Arten. Die Serengeti der Meere, benannt nach ihrer vielfältigen Unterwasserwelt, gehört ebenfalls zum Blumenreich des Kaps. Das reichste Blumenreich der Welt! In diesem Gebiet sind etwa 2000 verschiedene Pflanzenarten beheimatet, von denen über 100 endemisch sind. Während wir hier sind, haben Sie genügend Zeit, um die Küstenebenen zu erkunden. Sie können auch den Leuchtturm von Cape Agulhas besuchen; die zweitälteste in Südafrika. Ein Spaziergang zum Gipfel des Leuchtturms bietet einen Blick aus der Vogelperspektive auf die Stadt und das Museum unten.

This is a great tour exploring the cape outside of Cape Town. It is a long tour, but our guide, Danson, tailored the day to our liking. We were able to skip places that were not of interest to us and enjoy more time at other places. Danson is very knowledgeable about the entire area and made the long drives feel much shorter with his informative description of each place and its history. If you have time, I’d highly recommend this tour and Danson as your guide. He really made experience very enjoyable.

The trip to Cqpe Agulhas was PERFECT. Well curated with adequate time to have lunch, spend time to see penguins, walk along the beach, climb the lighthouse. Our guide Peter was AMAZING! knowledgeable about not just the tour but also Cape town and South Africa as a whole. He was engaging but not overwhelming. Even with my teenage children. Very professional. My interaction with Pauline was very professional, she answered all my questions and enquiries. I would highly recommend this tour with this company.
