We booked via the internet for the tour, it was an easy and seamless process following a telephone call confirming we could drive to and park at the venue. The price we paid for the 'secrets of pearling' information session before, the cruise and the oyster tasting was very reasonable. All told we were at the venue for almost two and a half hours. A tour group left for the cruise just prior to the four of us and another twelve or so others attending the information session. The cruise had over twenty people aboard. The cruise lasted about an hour followed by the oyster tasting which had sixteen attendees. Three different types of oysters were presented to taste and a good description of the flavours and textures we were to find in our tasting. The complete experience, along with browsing in the store was a very good use of the time. We all walked away with a better knowledge of the husbandry of oysters.

A little out of the way Great experience learning a bit more about pearl farming, pearl harvesting and oysters tasting. Very friendly staff. Shelly sent us to Chatswood as it was difficult to get an Uber back. Definitely worth visiting, though renting a car would be advisable.

This was a nice day trip from Sydney. It was easy to get to the meeting point via train from Sydney Central Station and the driver met us promptly. We learned a lot from the tour. We also liked the interactive nature of the tour. We went out on a boat to see the oyster beds. We saw an oyster being opened with a pearl inside. We saw a demonstration on how to shuck an oyster and got the opportunity to do it ourselves. The oysters in the tasting were delicious. On top of all that, we got to shop for jewelry.

What a beautiful way to spend a Sunday in Winter. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed very warmly by all the staff. We were very impressed with the smooth operation of the tour. It was the perfect amount of time with information sharing - loved the hands on experience and it was great that the young children were involved in choosing the oyster that we opened. The boat trip was so good and our guide had a great way of explaining information and she was genuinely concerned about our comfort as we headed back in strong winds. She had blankets & wind jackets at the ready. And we finished off with oyster tasting /- delicious and great to taste pearl meat. A special thank you to the team who were very helpful with our request for some “used” oyster shells - for our daughters hens day. They look fabulous. Well worth the experience . I have learned so much from the informative talk and hands on experience that was delivered by Helen. The talk was not just about pearls , but how each one of these oysters help clean the natural water environment , the environmental value of having oysters in our water system , not to mention producing aesthetic and practical products for us to enjoy . The gastronomic experience was one of the great highlights of the tour - the taste of the oysters in every bite was moorishedly enjoyed. The boat trip to the oyster farm in the waterways certainly added a sense of adventure to the whole experience . The staff members were all very friendly knowledgeable and accommodating.

This is such a fabulous thing to do! I took my whole family ( including x 3 young kids 8 and under) and they loved it and learned so much. The tours was fascinating and I learned so much - and I ended up doing the oyster tasting after, I discovered so much about oysters and am officially obsessed with this incredible, magical creatures.
