Der Baum wird von den traditionellen Heilern aus den umliegenden Gemeinden für Rituale und medizinische Zwecke unter Verwendung der Rinde des Baumes verwendet. Einige Völker glauben, dass der Baum benutzt werden kann, um den bösen Geist zu vertreiben. Der Waldspaziergang beinhaltet auch Besuche und bei Interesse die Teilnahme an unserer Naturschutzinitiative, um entweder 30-45 Minuten in unseren Baumschulen zu verbringen, die junge Sämlinge gießen und bewirtschaften, oder einige Bäume zu pflanzen, um den Wald zu schützen. Vom Waldrand im südlichen Teil kann die Wanderung auf die Reisfarmen ausgedehnt werden, auf denen die Bauern ein Bewässerungssystem für mehr als 3000 ha Reisfelder betreiben.

Peter was an amazing guide and picked us up at our hotel and even brought us back again. He told us all about the different animals, trees and plants whilst the forest walk. He is so funny and his interest for wildlife is addictive and we loved to hear about his stories. He has a lot of experience and we would recommend going on a tour with him anytime. The forest tour was great. It was really nice to get out of the city buzz for a few hours and take some time to explore around the forest, rice field's and see the monkeys! Peter was a really good guide, he knew a lot about the forest, different trees and animals and the lifestyle of the farmers. Very much recommend :-)

The Rau Forest Hiking Tour was really nice! We saw lots of monkeys and special kind of trees and fruits. We also really enjoyed the Rice fields, it was wonderful! You could walk between the fields. The guide Peter has lots of knowledge and is really kind. He is very flexibel and willing to help you. He picked us up at our accomodation. We would definitely recommend this tour to others!
