Wir werden uns in der 71 Wale Street treffen, um eine Einführung in die Region zu erhalten und einen Überblick über die Geschichte von Kapstadt und Bo-Kaap zu geben.
Bo-Kaap ist ein wunderschöner, malerischer und farbenfroher Vorort, der sich am Fuße des Signal Hill in der City Bowl von Kapstadt befindet. Seine Geschichte ist jedoch reich an Sklaverei und es ist auch als "Geburtsort des Islam" am Kap bekannt. Versklavte Menschen, Handwerker und politische Exilanten wurden unter anderem aus Afrika, Indien, Sri Lanka, Indonesien und Malaysia hierher gebracht.

My Bo-Kaap: Walk With A Local tour was outstanding. Ms. Shamila, my excellent tour guide, is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and through her storytelling, I learned a wealth of knowledge in a few hours' time. Learning about the origins of Bo-Kaap and experiencing its strong sense of community was truly admirable. Ms. Shamila reminded me that travel is truly the best education. This is a tour that will always have a special place in my heart ❤️.
We had a nice tour of Bo Kaap, and learned about the history, religion, and culture of the area, and our guide pointed out some nearby sites that we were interested in visiting.

One of the best experiences in Cape Town to gain a real appreciation for the BoKaap community. Our guide grew up in BoKaap and would share greetings with friends as he showed us around his neighborhood. The in-depth history was enlightening and the resilience and vibrancy of this community was inspiring. It was beautiful and delicious - our wonderful guide treated us to a warm koesister at the end of our tour.
