Basilica Cistern
Die Basilika-Zisterne wurde zur Versorgung des Großen Byzantinischen Palastes und der umliegenden Gebäude konzipiert. Sie konnte bis zu 100.000 Tonnen Wasser speichern, das über 20 km lange Aquädukte aus einem Reservoir rund um den Belgrader Wald geliefert wurde. Die Basilika-Zisterne (unterirdische Zisterne, Yerebatan) ist eine der berühmtesten Zisternen in Istanbul. Sie wurde während des Byzantinischen Reiches erbaut und später vom Osmanischen Reich nicht mehr genutzt und geriet lange Zeit in Vergessenheit. Seit ihrer Entdeckung und Restaurierung wird sie seit 1988 als Museum genutzt.

The guide was very kind and offered us to visit the racetrack as well, it is a place with a lot of history and a wonderful architecture and ambiance. I felt like I was in the 007 movie walking along those walkways. I would have liked the tour to be available in Spanish.

Incredible, a dream come true that, although only for a few hours, leaves us wanting to return to this beautiful country.

Zeki at Manolya tours did a great job
Manolya tours provided our group of 4 with reliable service that included transportation all around, private guides, they arranged activities for us at the last minute based on our preferences and stayed flexible to accommodate when we needed to make a last minute change. Overall, we had a worry free trip and got to experience both Istanbul and Capodoccia in the best way possible.
