Wat Phra Mahathat, Thailand, war ein königlicher Tempel des Ayutthaya-Königreichs. Es ist einer der ältesten und bedeutendsten Tempel in der Geschichte von Ayutthaya, in dem sich das heilige Relikt des Buddha befand. Viele wichtige königliche Zeremonien der Ayutthaya-Ära waren hier abgehalten worden. Als das Ayutthaya-Königreich 1767 versagte, wurde Wat Phra Mahathat durch einen Brand schwer beschädigt und seitdem aufgegeben. Der Tempel befindet sich heutzutage im Bereich des Ayutthaya Historical Park. Zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten im Wat Phra Mahathat von Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya zählen Überreste wichtiger alter Gebäude wie Pagoden, achteckige Pagoden, königliche Halle, kleine Tempel, Wandgemälde unter einem Bodhi-Baum und der berühmte Kopf des Buddha aus Sandstein im Ayutthaya-Stil die Wurzel eines Baumes. Nahe gelegene Sehenswürdigkeiten - Der antike Palast, von dem heute nur noch der Keller des Gebäudes zu sehen ist. - Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, ein wichtiger Tempel im königlichen Palast der Ayutthaya-Ära.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram liegt am Ufer des Maenam Chao Phraya westlich der Stadtinsel. Wat Chai Wattanaram wurde 1630 von König Prasat Thong zu Ehren seiner Mutter erbaut und als Nachbau des Angkor-Tempels konzipiert. Wat Chaiwattanaram, eine der meistbesuchten historischen Stätten von Ayutthaya, liegt am Ufer des Chao Phraya im Westen der Stadtinsel.
Der Elephant Kraal Pavilion (Phaniat) befindet sich im Unterbezirk Suan Phrik. Es liegt vier Kilometer von der Stadt entfernt am Highway 347 bei km 42-43.
Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon ist ein wunderschöner Tempel vor der historischen Insel. Höhepunkte sind die 60 Meter hohe glockenförmige Chedi und ein großer liegender Buddha.

My family went on several tours with Angela and she was fantastic! I've been on many work trips around the world so learned the value of having a local tour guide on my family vacation - I didn't want to end up being the tour guide myself! I met Angela in 2024 during a work trip where she was hired to provide tours to a large group of students I was leading. I knew she was outstanding, but she really provided excellent service to me and my family in August 2025 when we took a vacation to Thailand. She took care of absolutely all of our needs and planned three wonderful excursions for us - all customized. In addition, she helped arrange transportation for us between Bangkok and Koh Chang and also to and from the airport. Everyone in my family had a wonderful vacation thanks to her care and concern for us. If you are thinking of traveling to Thailand, do yourself a HUGE favor and hire Angela to be your local tour guide. Your vacation will be relaxing and you won't be stressed trying to make all the local arrangements yourself. I can't wait to figure out how to get back to Bangkok just to do more tours.
