Beginnen Sie Ihre Tagestour in Assuan, indem Sie von Ihrem Hotel oder Kreuzfahrtschiff abgeholt werden und zum Assuan-Staudamm fahren, einem Wunderwerk der Ingenieurskunst aus den 1960er Jahren. Von der Spitze des Staudamms aus können Sie über den Nassersee zum Kalabsha-Tempel im Süden und zum riesigen Kraftwerk im Norden blicken.
Weiter geht es zum unvollendeten Obelisken in den Granitsteinbrüchen von Assuan, aus denen ein Großteil des roten Granits stammt, der für die antiken Tempel und Kolosse verwendet wurde. Der unvollendete Obelisk liegt noch immer dort, wo er gehauen wurde, als beim Aushauen aus dem Fels ein Riss entdeckt wurde. Ihr qualifizierter Ägyptologe wird Ihnen erklären, wie der 1-Tonnen-Obelisk gehauen wurde und warum er wegen des Risses aufgegeben wurde.
Die letzte der drei berühmten Stätten von Assuan, die Sie sehen werden, gilt allgemein als die beste. Der Philae-Tempel wurde vorsichtig an seinen heutigen Standort (etwa 500 Meter vom ursprünglichen Standort entfernt) verlegt, als der Bau des Staudamms den umliegenden Nil ansteigen ließ. Eine kurze Fahrt mit dem Motorboot bringt Sie zur Insel, wo Ihr Reiseleiter Sie auf einen Rundgang durch den Tempel mitnimmt, bevor Sie freie Zeit haben, um auf eigene Faust weiter zu erkunden. Der Philae-Tempel ist der Göttin Isis gewidmet und hat eine wunderschöne Lage auf einer Insel im Fluss, die so gestaltet wurde, dass sie ihrem ursprünglichen Standort entspricht.

We did one last tour while staying in Aswan and this one was great. My husband was becoming ill from the heat on previous tours and Big Mac did everything to keep him cool and in the shade and also navigated us away from the huge bus loads of tourists that can be a problem. He was kind and funny and informative. Highly recommended!

I had a fantastic experience exploring Aswan's most iconic sights in just one day. The High Dam was impressive and learning about its construction was fascinating. The speed boat ride on the Nile to Philae temple was great and the temple was amazing.
