Nach der morgendlichen Abholung mit einem klimatisierten Reisebus von Ihrem Hotel in Christchurch erfolgt der Transfer zum Bahnhof Christchurch, wo Sie in den TranzAlpine-Zug einsteigen. Dies wurde als eine der zehn besten Zugreisen der Welt eingestuft.
Wir laden Sie ein, mit uns auf Entdeckungstour durch spektakuläre Landschaften zu gehen. Von Christchurch aus steigen Sie in den weltberühmten TranzAlpine-Zug bis zum Arthurs Pass
vor der Besichtigung und dem Abfahren des 440 Meter langen Otira Viaduct ein großes NZ-Ingenieurprojekt - das Viadukt ist eine der erdbebengefährdetsten Regionen in Neuseeland und es wurde entworfen, um seismischen Kräften 40 Prozent mehr als das übliche Maximum für solche Strukturen standzuhalten. In den Spätsommermonaten tragen die leuchtenden Blüten der Roten Rata (Metrosideros umbellata) zur Schönheit der Otira-Schlucht bei. Dieser Baum ist nicht auf der Ostseite der Südalpen zu finden, sondern blüht nur in den feuchten westlichen Tälern, Sie werden auch den NZ Kea treffen, der als einer der intelligentesten Vögel der Welt eingestuft wird. Sie haben sehr neugierige Natur und sind in den meisten südinselalpinen Umgebungen zu finden. Der Zeitraum von einer Stunde ist die Zeit, die insgesamt für die Fahrt zum, vom und auf dem Viadukt vom Arthurs Pass mit Stopps verbracht wird
Ihr Fahrer/Fortgeschrittener empfiehlt Ihnen dann einige beliebte Wanderungen im Nationalpark mit unglaublicher Aussicht, Wetter & Zeit. Die hier verbrachte Zeit ist ungefähr die gesamte Zeit, die tagsüber im Arthurs Pass Village verbracht wird, möglicherweise länger, wenn die Mittagsoption im Dorf eingenommen wird.
Entspannen Sie in einem Bergcafé (auf eigene Kosten). Halten Sie Ausschau nach dem frechen Kea, Neuseelands intelligentem Alpenpapagei, der oft in der Gegend gesehen wird.

The experience was terrific, perfect winter day with snow and sunshine. Pete, tour guide was a fountain of knowledge about the history of the area. He was great at advising next steps, allowing as much time at stops as possible. Well worth the cost of the trip. Everything was amazing from scenery to explanations about the history of the area.

I recommend going Scenic Plus. Just superb. Nz has awesome views from this train. Just don't know how much beauty you can see in one day. Our hostess was marvellous.

Train trip was fantastic with snow on the alps which was a bonus as apparently it doesn't usually snow in April. Stephanie our driver for the trip back was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time to see the sights when we stopped to stretch our legs and short walks. Arthurs Pass and Castle Hill stops with lunch at Grasmere (very yummy) and the view to the snow- capped mountains was spectacular. Toby Farm very interesting and the hosts were lovely. Plenty of opportunity for photos along the way. A long day but worth it. A must do trip.

Riding the train to Arthur's Pass was so comfortable, and enabled us to enjoy lovely scenery along the way. We then hiked to the Devil's Punchbowl in the pouring rain, but it was the quintessential New Zealand experience.
I could not agree with you more when you quintessential NZ. We always hope for perfect weather but sometimes the weather has other ideas. And yet when the rain comes down so you enjoy a completely different experience. Green, lush and fresh. Excellent review - thank you.
The 2 1/2 hr train trip was lovely. Saw views that otherwise wouldn’t have seen. The stops on the return were just ok but had a great guide that did explain everything that we saw.

The tranzalpine ride was worth it and saw some wonderful scenery. Unfortunately due to heavy rain we could not do the devils punchbowl walk. The lunch was good. Castle hill was a photogenic place. The couple who run Toby hill farm were very friendly and warm people and we got good insight regarding sheep farming. Alexander the guide was very nice and accommodated everything despite the weather. Would absolutely recommend this tour.
