Great tour, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get some exercise and wants to get to know and admire the beauty of the ancient city. The bicycles are not the newest, but they work perfectly. Another highlight was the food; we ate sensationally. This tour is great and highly recommended.

Saranga is a very sweet and nice man who has provided a top tour for us! He was not only kind, but taught us a lot about Buddhism. The unique thing about this tour is that you get an insight into the local community. Saranga shares its income with the local people, you literally see this happening. 100% worth your money and time!!

Awesome tour! Don’t hesitate to book this amazing value, comfortable and comprehensive tour. It made visiting the site so easy. Get a driver to drive you to the ticket office to buy tickets (they take credit card), then drop you and pick you up from the meeting point sent through Get Your Guide. The guide was a fountain of knowledge and had excellent and clear English. We loved cycling along some quiet, shady tracks and along the edge of the reservoir, which you would not get in a tuktuk. The guide worked out an excellent route and you got to see and experience all the highlights and some lesser visited special places without getting lost or backtracking. A delicious vegetarian lunch was also included. Fabulous value. Definitely the best tour of our whole trip to SL. We loved seeing all the living culture here as well - lots of groups of villagers and monks and so many beautiful flower offerings.

We are so happy to have booked this trip. This was exactly what we were looking for! Not only seen the fixed things that everyone sees but an experience. He comes to very beautiful places that you otherwise do not see, drives between the rice fields. Along the houses of the locals and he tells a lot about history but also their culture. On the way stop at a local, very sweet woman who had made delicious things. Eventually still be able to see the rituals at the temple. So cool! What a memory, smile kindly at the locals and you get a very nice smile back. It won't cost you anything. This tour is in my heart.

My 14 year old daughter and I had a wonderful experience with Saranga as he guided us through the area. We visited amazing beautiful stupas, ancient sites and made a beautiful scenic ride through the rice fields of nearby villages. Lunch was really good too but mostly Saranga’s storytelling on Buddhism and life in Sri Lanka is what made this bicycle trip unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Saranga is really the cutest and sweetest guide we have met in ages. He really touched our hearts. With great warmth and passion he showed us the city. He felt us well and has told a lot about the inhabitants and the culture of Anuradhapura. He really gave us a nice afternoon and our daughters enjoyed culture, but especially the monkeys in the park. All in all highly recommended. And another little sidenote, you pay the $30 entrance fee for the old town and all its beautiful places, in addition to the costs for the bike tour. With this you support maintenance of the unesco heritage, but the bike tour itself generates money to local residents / entrepreneurs. A great way to contribute to better living conditions for the people who live in the city.
