Hoch über dem englischen Hafen gelegen, ist die Aussicht von Shirley Heights einfach unglaublich. Bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die im Hafen unten festgemachten Yachten. Benannt nach Gouverneur Thomas Shirley, der 1781 den Hafen befestigte. An einem klaren Tag können benachbarte Inseln von diesem Standpunkt aus gesehen werden.
Nelsons Dockyard, benannt nach Admiral Horatio Nelson, einem britischen Marineoffizier, der zwischen 1784 und 1787 auf dieser Royal Navy Dockyard lebte. Die Gebäude der Dockyard aus dem 18./19. Jahrhundert wurden vollständig in ihrer ursprünglichen Pracht restauriert und beherbergen alle modernen Annehmlichkeiten. We spent a half day riding around the island and through many villages. Riley was a great guide and proud of his country. His knowledge helped make it a wonderful tour. So many interesting sites and beautiful views at Devil’s Bridge, Nelson Dockyard and Shirley Heights.

I am at an all inclusive resort but also wanted an overview of Island. This tour was as advertised and fit the bill. I was pleasantly surprised to be only person on the tour. Driver/guide was pleasant and informative. Tour did include pick up and return to Jolly Beach Resort, where I was staying.

This was the perfect way to see some of the highlights of the Antigua! The tour included every stop I wanted to see, and Benjamin was the perfect guide. He answered every last question I had about Antiguan landmarks, history, and culture. He even stopped so we could try a local tamarind fruit straight off a tree! Overall, it was a great half-day tour, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get off their resort for a bit and see more of the island.
