We booked some tickets through Trip Advisor as we were killing some time before our flight. We were able to get discounted tickets, which made the price of admission very reasonable. I would recommend setting aside a couple of hours. The exhibits were very interactive, which would make this a great experience for kids. Make sure you take the hagglunds ride!

Very good experience to visit the International Antarctic Center. Very educational and entertaining, and happy to hear that the husky dogs are no longer used for Antarctic transportation. Riding on the Haaglund was an interesting experience.

Having visited the Arctic 11 years ago, we were interested in learning more about the opposite side of the globe. The International Antarctic Centre provided an amazing, interactive experience enhanced by knowledgeable staff and well-curated exhibits. We highly recommend the center for anyone visiting Christchurch.
Lacklustre and disappointing for cost of entry
Lots to see, learn and do. You need at least 1.5 hours to do and read everything.
Brilliant. Worth every penny. Highly recommended, especially the storm room.
Great place to visit with kids
DO NOT BUY TICKETS OFF TRIP ADVISOR!! I thought I was getting a good deal but then when the invoice came through on am email it said USD so it ended up being more expensive. On their website it says if you can find a better price anywhere else they will match it but when I contacted them I had to deal with a chat robot who was of no help, I couldn’t get through to a real human to sort it out. The experience with Trip Advisor was terrible. The experience at the Antarctic Centre was fantastic though, just buy the tickets directly through them, it is expensive but the funds go to a good cause.
