Das Museum beherbergt Äthiopiens künstlerische Schätze. Es enthält viele wertvolle lokale archäologische Funde wie die versteinerten Überreste früher Hominiden, von denen die berühmteste "Lucy" ist, das Teilskelett eines Exemplars von Australopithecus afarensis. Kürzlich wurde der Kellergalerie eine Ausstellung über Selam hinzugefügt, die zwischen 2000 und 2004 gefunden wurde. Dieses archaische Fossil wird auf 3,3 Millionen Jahre geschätzt.
Entoto Maryam ist wahrscheinlich das älteste funktionale Gebäude in der Nähe von Addis Abeba und eine achteckige Kirche, die Menelik II. Um 1882 in seiner damaligen Hauptstadt errichtete. Das schöne Interieur, das mit traditionellen Kirchengemälden bedeckt ist, ist erst unmittelbar nach dem Gottesdienst zu sehen, der normalerweise um 9 Uhr morgens endet. Ein Ortsmuseum mit einer Sammlung religiöser Gegenstände und zeremonieller Kleidung aus der Menelik-Zeit hält unberechenbare Zeiten aufrecht.
Die Kathedrale der Heiligen Dreifaltigkeit, auf Amharisch als Kidist Selassie bekannt, ist die ranghöchste äthiopisch-orthodoxe Tewahedo-Kathedrale in Addis Abeba, Äthiopien. Es wurde zum Gedenken an die Befreiung Äthiopiens von der italienischen Besatzung erbaut und ist nach der Kirche Unserer Lieben Frau Maria von Zion in Axum die zweitwichtigste Kultstätte in Äthiopien.
Ein Palast, in dem einst die Kaiser Äthiopiens lebten. Das Palastgelände in Addis Abeba, das die Regierung von Premierminister Abiy Ahmed in "Unity Park" umbenannt hat.
Die neue Kirche wurde auf den Ruinen einer älteren Kirche aus dem 15. Jahrhundert erbaut. Es wurde nach St. George benannt, nachdem der Tabot (Arche) der Kirche in die Schlacht von Adwa gegen die Italiener gebracht wurde, während der die Äthiopier den Sieg errangen. Das Gebäude wurde 1938 in einer italienischen Touristenzeitschrift als schönes Beispiel für die europäische Interpretation des äthiopischen Kirchendesigns beschrieben. Die italienischen faschistischen Behörden setzten das Gebäude während des Krieges 1937 in Brand. Die Kathedrale wurde später nach der Befreiung im Jahr 1941 vom Kaiser restauriert.

Yama Tours created the trip of a lifetime for us. We visited Addis, Lalibella, and Gondar. Yama Tours arranged every detail, flights lodging, tours, restaurant reservations. They were very easy to work with. Asked to connect with the Jewish community while in Gondar and they coordinated a personal visit with the Rabbi and our attendance at Shabbat services for Shabbat. We got to tour their kitchens and see armies of congregants making matzoh for 50,000 people at Passover. We asked to add one person to our tour on the night before it was to start and they coordinated the extra flight and room instantly. They cared for our health and safety. All vehicles were modern with all safety features you’d expect. One of our party got sick and their guide bought them medicine with their own money and brought it to the hotel. (We paid him back, of course.) The prompt treatment helped him heal quickly and our trip was not impacted. We could never have coordinated such a trip ourselves.We’ll use Yama again the next time we visit.

We did a day and a half tour cum site-seeing with Yama Tours. My favorite part was the way in which Tariq and Tesfaye, the good English speaking guides, explained to us about the country's history. We went to Mount Entoto, saw the palace and the park, the two museums (ethnologic and national), Tiglachin square, Marketo market. We also went to some souvenir shops, went to buy the amazing leather products, spices (mitmita) and coffee. All along, they were very polite and patient. One and half days very well spent. I would highly recommend the tour.

Had an overnight layover in Addis, and a very short time to see a few sights in the evening and in the morning, and Yama Tours made it happen! Our guide Samson was very professional and extremely warm and friendly, and made sure we saw as much as possible! Would highly recommend!
