Als Verfechter der schwarzen Gemeinschaft und des Frauenwahlrechts widmete sich Du Bois viel seinem Leben und seiner Karriere dem Panafrikanismus und wurde Organisator mehrerer panafrikanischer Kongresse, die die Aufgabe hatten, viele afrikanische Kolonien von der europäischen Kontrolle zu befreien. Während seines Aufenthalts in Ghana, einem Land, in dem er sich für die Unabhängigkeit einsetzte, plante Du Bois sein letztes Projekt, die Encyclopedia Africana. Ähnlich wie die Encyclopedia Britannica war die vorgeschlagene Encyclopedia Africana ein ehrgeiziges Unterfangen, von dem Du Bois hoffte, dass es die gesamte afrikanische Diaspora verbinden würde. Obwohl Du Bois 1963 starb, ohne die Encyclopedia Africana abgeschlossen zu haben, sind seine Beiträge zur Erfahrung der Afroamerikaner als Historiker, Bürgerrechtler, Schriftsteller, Soziologe und Intellektueller enorm. Das Museum feiert sein einflussreiches Leben, seinen Aktivismus und die wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten, die bis heute als wesentliche Referenzen für Rassismus in Amerika dienen.
Der Gedenkpark ist dem verstorbenen Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah gewidmet und wurde auf einem ehemaligen britischen Polofeld errichtet, auf dem 1957 Ghanas Unabhängigkeit erklärt wurde. Das Mausoleum ist ein prächtiges Marmordenkmal und die letzte Ruhestätte des ersten Präsidenten Ghanas und seiner Frau Fathia Nkrumah.

Eben with EAA tours was literally a dream! We came to Ghana as a family of 4. Two adults, a 6yr old, and a 16M old baby. Eben came to pick us up right at our Airbnb, had a truck big enough for our car seat, and did a phenomenal job curating a tour that was fit for our family makeup. The pace was just right. My 6yr old had a ball! My husband who is a history buff was so engaged. We didn’t feel overly tired at the end even though we managed to make it to 5 different places. Eben is a wealth of knowledge, like even just the car ride from destination to destination was informative. He had all the history, context, and fun facts for us as we navigated the city of Accra. My daughter and I took this tour on our last day in Ghana. Isaiah was a great tour guide. We appreciated him taking us around Accra and telling us about the history and culture. I spent an extraordinary morning with Eden and Rukaia. They were very pleasant company, attentive and smiling. They allowed me to discover the main points of interest of the city, combining culture, history and real immersion in the life of the Ghananians. Great originality, it is the panoramic view of Makola Market, which allows to go off the beaten track. Thank you Eden for this first immersion in Ghana, which exceeded my expectations. Absolutely wonderful experience with Eben touring Accra. Very friendly and made it easy for us to see all the main sites with an air conditioned car. He also drove us to Elmina and was a very safe and reliable driver. Highly recommend!

Eben arrived punctually to pick us from our hotel and was immediately welcoming and offered us a bottle of water. He explained where and what we would be covering on the tour.
