Ronan was our tour guide. He was one of the best tour guides I’ve ever experienced while traveling abroad. The places we went, his attention to detail and stories about the history of this amazing country was worth the trip alone. He kept a schedule which helped us see even more than expected. Hands down the best experience.
Hi Leslie, appreciate the review. Glad the eight-day ring road tour was such a memorable one, and that the guide kept the days both full and well-paced. Wishing you safe travels onwards. Arctic Adventures Team
A fantastic, very concise, very enjoyable tour. Ronan, our tour guide made this a truly exceptional vacation. The small group of 18 participants gave us the flexibility to move quickly between locations, and access to places large tour busses could not go. Every day we covered may beautiful and remote locations. Ronan's detailed knowledge of the entire island was extensive, his local folklore and insights created an unforgettable experience well worth requesting his leadership when we hopefully return next year to visit the West Fjords. I highly recommend Ronan and ArcticAdventures.
Hi there, thank you for such a detailed review. Glad the eight-day ring road tour worked out so well, and that the small-group format let you reach the more remote places. Iceland has a lot more to show, especially in the Westfjords. Looking forward to having you on our tour next year! Arctic Adventures Team
Horrendous - canceled day before the tour
Dear Christopher, we're sorry the booking had to be canceled. The reservation for multiday tour was placed a few days before departure through a third-party platform, and we weren't able to confirm it due to low availability. If you're still in Iceland, please reach out to us and we'll do our best to help you find an alternative. Arctic Adventures Team
Could not have asked for anything better, our driver/guide jói was GREAT...organized, funny, informative....wonderful to experience Iceland while listening to his stories (and music). We packed in full days, but jói made time for a few surprise stops. Would not have been the same trip without him. BIG big THANKS.
Hi there, thanks for the warm review! Glad the eight-day ring road was such a memorable trip, and that the guide brought the stories, the music, and the surprise stops to the days. Hope you'll be back! Arctic Adventures Team
Our son’s high school graduation gift from us. We had a ball! Each day was an adventure, often traveling to a new location, hiking, eating, and admiring this beautiful country. Lili was our guide and her passion for and knowledge of Iceland was energizing and melded our diverse group quickly. Truly a fun trip I’d love to do again. I’ve never done a tour like this, and now would do another without hesitation. Friendly, thoughtful, educational but not stuffy, and enjoyable.
Hi Scott, thank you for the kind review. Glad the eight days were such a great family trip, and that the guide brought both her knowledge and the good energy to the day. Wishing you safe travels onwards! Arctic Adventures Team
I did 8 day tour. Booking was not clear emailed and called comparing 8 versus 7 day and was never explained that was a 6 day tour and 2 one day tour. 6 day portion we t great with great guide, enjoyed sights and all but last hotel nice. 7th day snaefellsnes peninsula disaster. Guide driver awful, skipped stops one stop for seals only 10 minutes total when takes 10 minutes just to walk to beach. Drivers not expecting me 7 and 8 day as continuation so confusion with hotel and luggage. 8th day guide good and enjoyed highlands.
Hello Marie, thanks for the detail. Glad the ring road portion and the highlands day both went well. The Snæfellsnes experience and the logistics between legs are worth looking into on our end. Please reach out at info@adventures.is with your booking reference and we'll take a proper look. Arctic Adventures Team
This was a remarkable experience especially with our guide Tom! So much to learn and see!
Hi Penelope, thanks for this. The full ring road is a lot of ground to cover, and it sounds like the pace and the company made it worth every kilometer. Glad you enjoyed it! Arctic Adventures Team
We are the group of ten ladies. We had the pleasure of being shown around Iceland by this incredible guide, Ronan, and I honestly can't say enough good things about him. From the very start, it was clear that he genuinely loves what he does — his passion for guiding shines through in every moment of the tour. Throughout our journey, he generously shared so many of his own personal adventures and stories from exploring Iceland, which made the experience feel so much more authentic and personal. He didn't just stick to the basics either — he always took things a step further, giving us in-depth explanations about the volcanoes and lava formations we encountered. His knowledge of Iceland's geology was fascinating, and he had a real gift for making complex things easy and exciting to understand. One of my favorite parts was when he shared the magical folklore of Iceland with us — the tales of trolls and elves that are woven into the country's culture. The absolute highlight was when we made offerings to the elves: he helped us carefully pick out exotic foreign sweets that he said the elves would love most. It was such a fun, whimsical, and memorable experience that I'll never forget. Honestly, he is the best tour guide I have ever had — kind, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and full of charm. Next time I visit Iceland, I will absolutely be booking him again. If you're looking for a guide who will make your trip truly unforgettable, look no further!
Hello, thank you for taking the time to write this up so generously. Eight days on the road is a real journey, and it sounds like the guiding, the storytelling, and the small moments along the way all came through the way they should. Arctic Adventures Team
We truly needed to get away, a REAL VACATION. Oh Boy, did we fall into the right hands!!! John was our guide during the 8 day Ring Tour of Iceland and he was Fantastic. It was immediately apparent that he was in it to please his passengers. We let go and let John and had a FANTASTIC trip. John has adopted Iceland as his home and he shares that love and knowledge with you. He is a geographer so we got a great insight into the land of fire and ice. You can read all about the awesome landscape and the places we went and great activities we did from other reviews but you need to request John as your guide if you want THE BEST VACATION! He aims to please and he takes care of every need that arises from the passengers such that we were truly able to enjoy the trip with no mundane concerns getting in the way. If we decide to go for the Northern Lights to Iceland we will only reserve it if John is our guide.
Hi Camila, this made our day. Eight days on the Ring Road is a real commitment, and hearing that it gave you the kind of vacation you'd been needing, from the geography of the land of fire and ice through to the small things being taken care of along the way, is everything we want for a trip that long. My husband and I went on a 8 day trip in Iceland with Arctic Adventures. We had an amazing experience touring Iceland with Bjorne. His knowledge of the country’s history, geology, and culture was outstanding, and he shared everything with genuine enthusiasm and professionalism. What made the tour extra special was that he took us to several beautiful places not included on the original itinerary — some of our favourite memories from the trip! Some were the waterfalls, Glacier hike, Ice Caves and the Whale watching. Bjorne truly went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. We highly recommend him as a tour guide. Jan & Don Roeder
Dear Traveler, Thank you for your feedback. It is a pleasure to hear that not only you enjoyed Iceland, but Bjorne made it even special with all the stories, facts and some additional stops. Hope to meet you in Iceland once again. Arctic Adventures Team
