Guided tour in a minibus with about 15-16 people. Our tour guide Sigi was just awesome. He was fluent in English with great sense of humor, which made everyone smile everyday. We learned from him a lot about history of Iceland and nordic countries. We largely had good weather all along.
This was simply the trip of a lifetime... it felt like being in a playground. Our guide Siggy was superb in terms of professionalism, knowledge and attitude. I loved his briefs about the different aspects of Iceland. He was always very nice and approachable despite days of particularly heavy workload. He was also really good at giving us the right amount of info to reduce uncertainty about what to expect and immediate next steps. We were very lucky with our group, as it just enhanced the experience, creating a great atmosphere. We were 17 and it felt like the right crowd size. Artic Adventures and us were all doing our part and I felt very well taken care of all along. Delivery was consistent to what was offered. This is best for people who genuinely love nature, as the discomfort of weather related stuff is simply annihilated by the excitement of the wonders you get to see, feel and enjoy regardless of rain or sunshine. Interestingly, the weather is part of the magic of this amazing place as you end up missing that rawness, that power... it just makes you feel more alive. Just make sure you bring the right clothes so that nothing gets on the way of enjoying every second :))))
Very beautiful country and lot of memorable sights. The first 2 days were packed- a lot to see in a short time. Most sights were unique. However, the number of waterfalls we visited was too many. Maybe include 3 only- the one in golden triangle, tallest and widest. Our guide was very helpful, friendly, patient, polite and kind.
New minibus, good standard of hotels, helpful and knowledgable guide
Hi Michelle, thank you for the thoughtful review. Glad the seven-day tour was such an enjoyable one from start to finish. Looking forward to hosting you again! Arctic Adventures Team
Great tour showing us many aspects of Iceland. Geology, cultured and food. Tour guide Zak was excellent, very informative, interesting, enthusiastic, and fun.
Hi Stephen, thanks for taking a moment. Glad the seven-day trip covered so many sides of Iceland well, and that the guide brought real energy to each of them. We'd be delighted to host you again! Arctic Adventures Team
Wonderful, comprehensive tour around Iceland with a fantastic guide! Glaciers, geysers, horses, whales, volcanoes, lava fields, history, food, and waterfalls galore! Expect to get some exercise hiking around. Great group of 15 total who all got along. Pack efficiently, there is only so much room in the bus, and it may not be timely to have the trailer opened to get to your luggage. Be ready for weather changes from stop to stop. Ask questions about what to have handy for the next day so you can be prepared. The guides will recommend food to have at the stops, all delicious, but if you are on a budget ask about options as there may be prepackaged items rather than the buffet. Icelandic prices are surprising! Lastly, If you go in the summer, get used to going to sleep even if it’s still light out…midnight can look like midday.
Hi Brian, much appreciated! Glad the seven-day trip was such a great one, and that the group came together well. Your practical tips will genuinely help future travelers plan smarter. Looking forward to the next one! Arctic Adventures Team
very nice experience! Unforgettable memories!
Hi there, much appreciated! Glad the seven-day trip was such a memorable one. Looking forward to the next one! Arctic Adventures Team
Vic picked us up and a great tour ensued. We had 12 others on the tour making it personal and interesting. Vic was amazing. His knowledge, folklore stories kept us entertained the whole trip. He knew more about the island, personal experiences and history made this one our best trips ever. He guided us to the best restaurants, encouraged us to try different foods, lamb stew was always a favorite. But there were veggie options too. He was very attentive to folks needs. Bathroom breaks, grocery stores, even wine stores! No questions were too basic for him to answer. He shared personal stories about his grandparents and family. He made us love him by day 2! He had a story about every place we visited. Would recommend him as a guide hands down. Vic would also inform us of the next steps and next days activities. We were apprehensive about taking a group tour. Well….the best decision we ever made. Bonnie & Kristy Friends for 20 years.
Hi Bonnie and Kristy, this made our day. Two friends of twenty years picking a group tour and calling it the best decision they ever made is about the highest compliment a seven-day trip can get. Sounds like the guide, the group, and the lamb stew all earned their place. Come back any time. Arctic Adventures Team
Ever wanted to come to Iceland after playing death light, finally seeing Black Sand and Diamond Beach, very excited. The tour guide Vignir was friendly, interesting to explain and easy to get.
Hi there, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Iceland inspiring a trip from a video game is one of the best booking origin stories we've heard. Glad the pickup ran smoothly and the day gave you what you came for. Arctic Adventures Team
The tour was packed with wonders of nature with Glacier walk and Glacier Lagoon definitely being the highlights. Seen endless waterfalls and nature is still intact especially considering the wild nature and damage caused by eruptions over time. Negative points (1) traveling from East coast the West has lots of driving with no particular interesting spots (2) speakers in van had an issue that did not allow us fully appreciate drivers explanations and (3) last hotel was moved to Reykjavik adding 2 hours extra driving instead of sourcing a closer hotel
Hi Peter, thanks so much for taking the time to write this. Glad the glacier walk and glacier lagoon were the highlights they should be. We really appreciate the specific notes too, feedback like this genuinely helps us keep improving. Hope to see you again. Arctic Adventures Team
