The Chongqing aspect of the tour (days 1 to 3) were amazing. Sally was our guide here and was knowledgeable about all the different UNESCO sites, the history, was well spoken and considerate in her pace as we had elderly parents in tow. She was also able to accommodate dietary preferences when it came to lunch (not too spicy for my mum). Days 4 to 6 were with Colin and Jacky who were primarily chauffeurs rather than tour guides. I think i am being harsh as Sally did such an excellent job. Then on day 6, we were disappointed that we hadn't been informed that my elderly parents wouldn't be able to take the bamboo raft tour; an alternative was found but meant we only had 20mins on the river and not 50 mins as stated in the itinerary. In addition, on the last day, sitting down for lunch we were told by Jacky that we had a limit of ¥200 for the group and anything above we had to pay for ourselves. This isn't a problem as we'd spent so much for the tour that this wouldn't break the bank but it wasn't in keeping with the previous 5 days lunch formats and seemed odd. I would also add the Xingping town village and Fuli town market were interesting points to visit but disappointing as I'd hoped there would be some information regarding the history of fan making and the cormorant fishermen in the area but there wasn't and it just felt as if we'd been dropped into the tourist zone. Overall, the tour is comprehensive and covers many of the areas you'll want to see while in China for a brief period. Out of 5, it would be a 3.5 but the first half with Sally pushes the experience to a 4.
