If your looking to do a trip to China you can't go wrong with this trip. Maggie, our tour guide, went above and beyond to insure that everyone on the trip was taken care of and had a wonderful trip. I travel all over the world and this was my first Gate 1 Discovery trip but will defenitly be doing more trips with them. The tours were excellent, rooms were large, more food than you could eat, and the itinery was very informative and enjoyable. I would recommend doing all the extra excursions available, as it adds to the trip.

As part of the excellent Classic China Tour we spent two days in Guilin with the very helpful and informative QiuyanLi as our guide for the area. QiuyanLi ('Li' for short) met us at the airport and took us to the very impressive Reed Flute Cave complex which we really enjoyed. It can, apparently, be very busy but was not at all crowded when we visited so Li was able to show us around the caves without any difficulty. From there we headed towards the city to see Elephant Trunk Hill. Unfortunately, it was extremely crowded and noisy around the best viewing areas when we visited making it hard to see the best views or hear all of the commentary, despite Li's best efforts. Our hotel, the Sheraton, was in a great location close to the river and city centre and we found the buffet style breakfasts in the coffee shop were excellent though it was very crowded both mornings. Our room was OK but just a little tired and disappointing compared to some of the others on the tour. Two comfortable chairs would have been better that just one for a couple. The city is very interesting and friendly with markets and food options of all sorts though we did encounter some issues with misunderstandings over language translations but that can all be part of the travel experience in a foreign country. We discovered that one of the best (and reasonably priced) options for a local meal is, ironically, the Irish pub next to the hotel which had almost no Irish meal options but some excellent Chinese ones making it a favourite of many of the locals, including Li! The artificial waterfall which flows over the side of the Waterfall Hotel in the city at certain times in the evening is as spectacular as it is unexpected and worth the short walk. The beautiful cruise to Yangshuo on the Li River was outstanding and one of the highlights of the whole tour. Li came along and made sure we missed nothing. It was wonderful! We had been warned that the lunch provided on the cruise might be disappointing but we enjoyed it very much and found the hospitality on the boat to be excellent. Yangshuo was a very interesting and attractive little town where we had time for a short break before heading out to the countryside to walk around a small farming village which was quite interesting and showed us a very different aspect to local life. There was an optional evening cruise on the Li River in the city area. We nearly didn't bother but that would have been a huge mistake. It was breathtaking and another of the highlights of our whole trip! It is so good that we think it should be included as part of the main tour. Guilin really puts on a show! Li, again, came along to make sure that we really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks, Guilin and thanks QiuyanLi.

Overall, we must say that your company provided excellent service throughout our entire itinerary. From the numerous pickups and drop-offs in hotels, train stations, airports, and scenic spots, we can see that your company, drivers, and tour guides pay meticulous attention to the fine details of our tour. We truly are amazed at the seamless and smooth transitions that we experienced at each of these changes of transportation mode. We highly appreciate your organization and its dedication to its patrons. To conclude, this truly is a 5-star experience. You make us feel like honored guests and VIPs and we greatly enjoyed our first China trip.

If you want to see the essential sights in China, this tour will meet and exceed your expectations and I cannot recommend this tour -- and TravelChinaGuide -- enough. The trip was very well-organized and the guides I had were amazing as they truly went above and beyond to meet the needs of both me and my group-mates. My guides were; Kevin in Beijing, Jacky in Xi'an, and Li in Guilin/Yangshuo. On top of being all-around great people, the guides provided cultural insights that truly enhanced the tour. Side note: I would also recommend a small group tour for anyone who do not want to travel with a large group of people but who also does not want to do a private tour. Our group was 14 people and it was small enough to be more personal than it would have been had I gone with a group of 40+ people.

I have traveled in China with Travel China Guide twice. The first experience in 2017 was so fantastic, I did it again this year--2019. Our guide for Beijing, Kevin, was personable and honest. In addition to informing us about all the sites, he shared his personal experience and views. His commentary really enriched the experience for me. They make it easy to enjoy China. Fantastic food! Great sites! New friends!

Our up most appreciation to our Travel China Guides Kitty in Beijing, Judy in Xian and Kathy in Guilin for being very helpful and most informative tour in China. The hotel accommodation were good but the WiFi in all hotels were completely unsatisfactory.

We booked a 10 day Beijing - Xian - Guilin tour with Travel China Guide with an extra days extension to visit the Longji Terrace Fields. We arrived in Beijing and Linda, our english speaking guide, warmly welcomed us at the airport. Next morning we met the rest of the group and Linda took us to the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven. Linda's personality, professionalism and knowledge impressed us and she endeared herself to the whole group. A visit to Great Wall, Tianamen Square, The Forbidden City, The Hutongs and special lunches with terrific food followed. This was our second visit to Beijing and we were pleased that we encountered a totally different experience to our first visit. A warm thank you to Linda for making our stay such a memorable experience and a special thank you to Travel China Guide for arranaging such a professional tour.
