Antikes Design : Die Tempelbauer orientierten Angkor Wat bewusst nach Osten, um Leben und göttliche Energie zu symbolisieren, und verwendeten genaue Messungen, um diese astronomische Ausrichtung zu Schlüsselzeiten des Jahres zu erreichen. Reflexion und Symbolik : Besonders auffällig ist der Sonnenaufgang von den reflektierenden Teichen vor dem Tempel aus, die die Struktur und den Himmel perfekt widerspiegeln. Diese Reflexion hat religiöse Bedeutung und symbolisiert das Gleichgewicht zwischen dem kosmischen Ozean und dem Himmel.

Angkor Wat ist der größte und berühmteste Khmer-Tempel, der im 12. Jahrhundert zwischen 1113 und 1150 während der Herrschaft von Suryavarman II erbaut wurde. Der 65 Meter hohe Tempel ist von einem großen Graben [Ko Tek] umgeben. Die Außen- und Innenwände sind mit erstaunlichen Sockelreliefs bedeckt.
PRASAT BAYON oder ANGKOR THOM ist ein Tempel im buddhistischen Stil, der Ende des 12./Anfang des 13. Jahrhunderts von Jayavarnam VII. erbaut wurde. Bayon hat 54 Türme, die die 54 Provinzen vor und während des Khmer-Reiches repräsentieren. Auf den 54 Türmen sind über 200 lächelnde Gesichter eingraviert. Bayon war eine blühende Hauptstadt, wurde aber leider 1811 von Cham-Invasoren beschädigt.
Chau Say Tevoda ist ein Tempel in Angkor, Kambodscha. Es liegt östlich von Angkor Thom, direkt südlich von Thommanon auf der anderen Seite des Victory Way. Der Mitte des 12. Jahrhunderts erbaute Tempel ist ein hinduistischer Tempel aus der Angkor-Wat-Zeit. Es ist Shiva und Vishnu gewidmet und enthält einzigartige Arten weiblicher Devata-Skulpturen.
PRASAT TA PROMH, erbaut im späten 12. Jahrhundert von Jayavarman VII, wurde 1186 seiner Mutter gewidmet. Ursprünglich hatte dieser Tempel einen buddhistischen Hintergrund, wurde aber später hinduistisch umgewandelt, sodass einige buddhistische Galerien zerstört und durch hinduistische Symbole wie Yoni und Lingam ersetzt wurden. Seine Lage ist 1,5 km von Bayon durch das Siegestor entfernt. Ta Promh ist berühmt für die Bäume (genannt „Spung“), die stark auf und über den Sandsteinblockwänden wachsen.
Ta Nei ist ein Steintempel aus dem späten 12. Jahrhundert in Angkor, Kambodscha. Es wurde während der Herrschaft von König Jayavarman VII. erbaut und liegt in der Nähe der nordwestlichen Ecke des East Baray, einem großen heiligen Stausee. Es war Buddha gewidmet.
Das Südtor ist einer von fünf großen Eingängen zur antiken Stadt Angkor Thom, erbaut im späten 12. Jahrhundert und ist das besterhaltene und berühmteste Tor. Es ist bekannt für seinen beeindruckenden Damm, der von Statuen von Göttern (Devas) und Dämonen (Asuras) gesäumt ist, die eine Naga ziehen, sowie einen Torturm mit vier Gesichtern, die denen des Bayon-Tempels ähneln. Dieses Tor dient als zeremonieller und defensiver Eingang, und der Damm ist ein beliebter Ort für Fotos und den Beginn von Elefantenritten in die Stadt.

Angkor Wat sunrise tour was amazing. Easy pick up, great service and a good price. My wife and I went with our two young daughters, one of whom was a little ill and wilted in the heat. Our guide was amazing with the kids, keeping them motivated, adjusting the itinerary to suit their ability and even took us home early so we could finish the tour with him the following morning (an unplanned second day, after the kids had a chance to rest). The temples are amazing and the guide was really knowledgeable and keen to share local insights. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

We had a lovely trip. We started today at 5 30. Arrived at the temple entrance at 5, 45. I traveled with my wife and two children five and ten years old. My five-year-old, I carried on my shoulders most of the time. it was still warm, but it was a lovely time to see the sunrise rise behind the temple. We had a lovely tour guide, Mr K. He arranged a short abbreviated tour of the temple. He provided a well informed background of the region and history beyond just the temple which was very informative. He was willing to go longer, but we had to keep it short because the kids were starting to get a bit Restless. We return to the hotel around 7, 30. Highly recommend climbing the tour. Kids were not allowed to the climb the tower which was very sharp. The stairs would be very difficult if someone was injured or have trouble walking. If your traveling to Siem Reap the temple is a must

The tour with Mr K and our private driver was a fantastic experience. We had the opportunity to visit the amazing Angkor Wat along with a few other temples.
