We had the most wonderful informative time with our Captain Glenville. He was the perfect captain and taught us a lot with his almost 40 years of experience. This was the highlight of our trip!
Our raft captain was called glen, he was really nice and full of knowledge. What I liked about him is the fact he didn’t rush down river like some of the others. We had a really good chat about everything on the river and life in general. I was asking him how he coped through covid. These guy’s really struggled they didn’t work for 12 months and I thought we had it bad at the very beginning of the pandemic. These guys are on 20 dollars a trip down the river and on a good day they might get 2 trip’s down the river and on an extremely good day 3. It doesn’t bother them tho they are so happy all the time. If you have a little spare money after your trip and are feeling generous give them a tip they will be over the moon. Overall the trip was good and really relaxing I would recommend it, however I think Tui are really over pricing it at 89 dollars per person. Shame on you Tui
Riding the bamboo raft down the Martha Brave river was a wonderful, relaxing trip. The captain does all the work while we relaxed in a comfortable seat, with our rum punch. Each handmade raft seats 2 people. Along the way there were local crafters on the sides of the river to purchase items, including more rum punch. You did not have to stop at these vendors, only if you wanted to purchase items. The captain was entertaining and shared info about the local culture. We would definitely do this excursion again. It was a beautiful ride in Jamaica.
