Transport Krakow -> Zakopane
På vej til Zakopane besøger du stedet, hvor en af de mest unikke oste i verden fremstilles. Highlanders - lokale bosættere, berømt for deres manuelle produktion af "oscypek". Det er en type rygeost lavet af fåremælk. Træhusene, hvor denne ost fremstilles, kaldes "Bacówki". I sådan en lille træhytte vil du være i stand til at prøve forskellige typer af denne ost med forskellige grader af rygning, samt lære, hvordan den laves.

At være i Zakopane, er det absolut nødvendigt at tage kabelbanen til toppen af Gubałówka (1123 m asl). En moderne bil med et glas tag tillader jernbanen at klatre opad, vidunderligt beundrer den åbenlyse fleretagers arrangement af Tatra vegetation med toppe af høje bjerge i Polen. Der er mange attraktioner på toppen, mest af alt, et vidunderligt panorama over Tatra-bjergene, en uafbrudt udsigt over Zakopane-bjerget beliggende ved foden af bjerget og muligheden for at slappe af i solen. Den 06.10 - 10.10 Gubałówka kabelbanen vil blive lukket på grund af vedligeholdelsesarbejde. I stedet vil vores tur rejse så højt som muligt med bil og tage en kort gåtur til udsigtspunktet. Som kompensation, vil vores gæster modtage en frokostkasse efter eget valg, på vores bekostning og derudover vil der være en smagsprøve. Det menes, at Zakopane er hjertet af Tatra-bjergene, så er Kropówki hjertet af Zakopane. Du vil besøge denne mest populære gågade, som på samme tid er et bestemt bytorv og dets omdrejningspunkt. På ethvert tidspunkt af året er Krupówki-gaden fyldt med turister, der besøger butikker og går til regionale restauranter, der ligger langs gaden. I denne gade kan du finde mange traditionelle highlander-genstande at købe, såsom tøj og souvenirs. Du vil have fritid til at lære Zakopane at kende på egen hånd. Start fra Krupówki og tag dig tid til at finde andre seværdigheder i byen.

Fine trip that was very well organised and with a great guide. And nice to end the trip with the thermal baths. However too many souvenir-shops for my taste in Zakopane and on top of the funicular ride.

Great experience. Really good admission fee for the day trip. Length of visit about 10.5 hours from 8.25am pick up to 7pm drop off. Really good atmosphere and mini bus ride of about 20 people. Stepan (apologise if spelt wrong) was a great guide and Lucas was a great driver. About 1.5 hour drive out of Krakow then stops to see the wooden house, goat cheese and vodka tasting and then into Zakopane. There is a funicular up to the mountain at Zakopane and then the town to explore it was definitely more crowded at the top of the mountain but a lovely view. The thermal spa was a highlight lots of areas to explore and the 16+ area was so relaxing and chill!

We had heard so much about Zakopane and decided to take a tour rather than go by train. So glad we did! It was door to door service with excellent communication ahead of the pick-up point from our guide and driver Pawel. There were 7 of us in his spacious, immaculate vehicle and three different variations of the tour represented by all 7 passengers. Pawel was courteous, patient, accommodating throughout the day. He had excellent local knowledge and entertained us with facts and anecdotes as we headed towards Zakopane. We had a comfort stop, a stop off at a UNESCO village famed for its wooden houses and we got into one to observe a wood carver at work and another stop at a shepherds hut to sample smoked cheese and vodka! We were brought to the funicular railway in Zakopane and Pawel sorted out our tickets. We hadn’t opted to attend the thermal spa but those who did were given time to enjoy the sights at the magnificent viewpoint overlooking the Tatra mountains before Pawel drove them to the spa. Had we gone by train we would have missed out on so much. The price seemed expensive compared to public transport but we had a wonderful day full of rich experiences and made new friendships with our fellow passengers. We’ve always enjoyed escorted tours on previous holidays in Europe and this one was up there with the best days out at around £67 per head. It was approximately 12 hours from start to finish, in a very comfortable vehicle with an excellent guide. In context, Thousand Miles charged us the same as some golf buggy tours around the Old Town which lasted 1.5 hours! And the same price as a 30 minute trot in a horse drawn carriage around the square! Definitely recommend this trip with this company.

Absolutely lovely full day out. Mirek our tour guide was wonderful, so knowledgeable and explained in very clear english the history surrounding our trip, from visiting the wooden village to the vodka and cheese tasting to the wooden church and then onto Zakopane. A big special thank you to him.
