At the time it was over 35°on the surface. Shade was provided when queuing which helped. Cool down the mine but was ok in T shirt. Guide used supplied headphones and mic which was good most of the time, just occasionally it distorted or dropped out. Better at lower volume. No language barrier for English speaking. A lot of steps so read up before to be sure. Partner is not keen on enclosed spaces but managed ok. Once you start the decent it's not easy to go back so be committed. Very interesting history, stunning craftsmanship and something you will never forget. Don't read about it, DO IT! Tour uses well lit 6 foot wide tunnels with mostly concrete floors so no hand/knee crawling and I did not have to duck once.

The tour operator was great. Bus was on time and comfortable ride. The operation at the mine itself was quite rough. There were a lot of tour groups - a lot. We ended up not being let into the mine for awhile (not the operator's fault here - just the backlog of groups at the mine). Our driver/guide tried to help us along, but couldn't make much progress. Once in the mine, the experience was similiar - very crowded and not much details given on the tour. We were in between other groups and they both delayed us and pushed us along. Overall the inner-mine tour was underwhelming. The mine itself was cool, but it was hard to enjoy with the crowds.

We had booked a tour in French with pickup in Krakow. Everything was very well organized. The tour is conducted in a group of about thirty people, it is well secured, and we learned a lot. The chapel made entirely of salt, even the chandeliers, is magnificent. A small downside, a very long wait for the elevator ride, even though the line was quite short.

It is a lot of walking but worth it, the pace is steady and a lady with a walking stick kept up fine. The sights, statues and engineering are fantastic and well worth the walk.

Booked through Trip Advisor, great comms to confirm transportation and pick up arrangements. The whole trip ran very smoothly. The mine visit was very impressive despite only getting to discover less than 1% of its vastness. If I was to be a little critical, I’d argue the exhibits need some investment and pre recorded slide show sections a boost in technology as it’s all very dated. But that’s me comparing with similar exhibitions and tourist attractions in other countries. The guide for our visit was functional and well scripted which did add to the experience. Of course the cool constant temperature down in the mine was also welcome relief from the 30 DegC temps outside.

The tour started at 11:30 am even though we booked 9:00 am tour. Because of that we missed another tour that we booked for 3:00 pm.
The. Mines were very interesting and the Cathedral at the end was amazing.Its a long walk but the end is worth it
