Oplev Grækenlands natur, hvor historie møder myten og vin skylder sin skabelse! Kryds over Korinthkanalen, der var en opgave fra antikken, besøg det gamle Korint, en af de rigeste gamle græske byer, beundre Zeus tempel ved Nemea (den eneste, du kan træde på), kør sporet af en af de mest berømte stadioner i det gamle Grækenland og smag på den guddommelige nemeanvin omgivet af vinmarker.

Ved at fortsætte fortsætter vi til Antik Korinth. Byen domineret af bakken i Acrocorinth. Webstedet, der ligger ved foden af bakken, inkluderer den romerske Agora af Korint, templet til gud Apollo og et lille museum. Bortset fra dets arkæologiske og historiske interesse er Ancient Corinth også en af de mest populære religiøse destinationer i Grækenland, da det var her apostlen Paul forkyndte kristendom, blev dømt af domstolen i Agora og oprettede den bedst organiserede kristne kirke i denne periode.
Apollon-templet i Korinth er et af de tidligste doriske templer på Peloponnes og det græske fastland. Bygget omkring 560 f.v.t. af lokal monolitisk kalksten på toppen af en imponerende, stenet bakke nord for Akrocorinth, var det arkaiske tempel et emblem for den græske by Korinth, der afspejler dens vækst og velstand.

Efter at have gået i den idylliske gamle by stopper vi til frokost i en traditionel taverna ved havet og kører op til slottet i Acronafplia for en panoramaudsigt over Nafplio.
Nafplio tilbyder dig en enestående kombination af fæstninger og slotte (Palamidi), Bourtzi, en enorm havn åbnet for Det Ægæiske Hav og den unikke arkitektur i den gamle by Nafplion, der afslører venetianske, neoklassiske og orientalske elementer.
Derefter starter vi på vej tilbage efter den østlige kyst på Peloponnes-halvøen for at nå Athen igen.
Turen starter med et kørsel langs kysten, på vejen vil du se nogle græske kystbyer og øen Salamis (hvor den historiske flådeslag fandt sted mellem athenerne og perserne). Vores første stop Korintkanalen. Åbnet i 1892 adskiller Peloponnes halvøen fra resten af Grækenland og forbinder den Saroniske Golf med det Korinthiske Hav. We were met at our Athens hotel by our very knowledgeable driver, Terry. We had a great, very informative, yet long day with him. We started by driving from a city centre hotel to the Corinth Canal for quick picks and a walk across it. We visited lots of sites, including Ancient Nemea and the Temple of Zeus, which we enjoyed. We would skip to the stadium as few historic objects remain. The trip to the top of the hillside for a short hike to the castle doors was also nice. Time only allowed for about a 30-minute visit, which was just enough to snap a few great photos. Our winery visit did not include a tour of the fields (e.g., vineyards) as their new tasting room location is not convenient. Instead, we received only an inside tour of their barrel room. We have visited many wineries around the world, so it was fine to miss a tour on this visit. The four wine tastings were nice, and they came with nibbles including bread pieces with olive oil, local raisins and chunks of cheese. We had lunch on the coast, which was a bit of a drive. We suggest offering additional food selections at the winery in the future, perhaps paired with a glass of wine. Their wine was very tasty. We would recommend the tour to anyone interested in a full-day historic tour.

Manos was the best guide for Athens and the Namea/Corinth region. He allowed me to customize my itinerary and offered many helpful suggestions how to use the time. He also helped me avoid the crowd so I could get very close shots of the guard change ceremony. Go with Manos it won’t be wrong.

Wonderful experience! From the time we were picked up, Elias took very good care of us! He was amazing— tweaked our trip according to our interests, and anticipated our needs! He was also very knowledgeable of Greek history and the sites we visited! The winery tour-tasting was a highlight of the day. They were nestled in the green vineyards and surrounded by mountains. They also used ancient clay jar aging process. This was the best Cabernet we have EVER tasted. Elias provided an unforgettable experience for us!

A “lovely” day with a nice driver outside of Athens. However, reading description & brief emails with travel company prior to booking….not as expected & too much “on your own” time. Travel out of Athens is calm, driver did share general info about region. But this is more of a day with a nice driver & limited/no guiding . Canal stop & historical sites are reading signage & not real discussions. Apollo Temple & Museum on your own is interesting, but you need to prepare in advance to get the depth & significance. (I turned down visiting another archaeological site) Wine country visit is one winery, although good, included a brief tour and several tastes. Asking to stop to potentially find other wine or olive oil stops, potential “up charges” and not possible. I would call this more of a drive & not a tour.
The tour was very informative and interesting. We had a great day learning about Ancient Corinth and the wine region with Christos. I would definitely use Olive Sea again for another tour.

The wine tasting tour was one of the most unique trips that I had. I am glad that it was part of the tour and Alexander, our tour guide, made sure that he I had a good time. Along the way, he talks about greek mythology and I learned so much about him. He is the best tour guide and the company must be very lucky to have him because he does his job very well. He answered all my questions to the best of his knowledge. The location is roughly a 2 hour trip from the city of Athens and the route to Nemea and Napflion was very picturesque. Alexander made sure I get the best spot to take pictures and he even offer to take my photos. It’s a nice part of the town and you will enjoy the view and the activity. Nemea has nice wines that everyone must try. I recommend to tourist like me to also include this into your itinerary.
