The Mountain of 7 Colors eller Rainbow Mountain (Rainbow Mountain) eller bedre kendt af lokalbefolkningen som Cerro Colorado, ligger i Vinicunca, provinsen Quipicanchis, departementet Cusco. Dens geologiske formationer afslører al deres pragt, i modsætning til den blå himmel, og danner en formidabel barriere mellem kystørkenen og Amazonas jungle. Vinicunca-bjergene er et af de spektakulære steder i Vilcanota-bjergkæden, der venter på en naturlig farve, denne farvning skyldes tilstedeværelsen af sedimentære sten i erosion. Hvad der er imponerende er, hvordan stenene er blevet dannet til at danne et sæt af syv farver. Bjergets højde er cirka 5.000 meter over havets overflade. Vinincunca eller Mountain of Seven Colors, er en af de store attraktioner, som du ikke bør gå glip af på din rejse til Peru, den er inkluderet på listen over de 100 steder i verden, som du skal besøge, før du dør. Byen Cusipata vil være vores obligatoriske stop for at nyde vores morgenbuffet, og også om eftermiddagen vil det være stedet for frokost.
TUREPLAN Eventyret begynder mellem klokken 04.00. m. og 04:30 m., på hvilket tidspunkt vores transportør henter dig ved din bolig, hvorefter vi tager til byen Cusipata Omkring kl. 6:30 ankommer vi til Cusipata, hvor vi vil nyde en morgenbuffet. Efter morgenmaden begynder vi opstigningen ad en fælles grusvej, indtil vi når 4.800 højdemeter. Efterfølgende begynder vi en gåtur gennem en 3 km sti, undervejs vil du nyde landskaber fulde af flora og fauna i Andesbjergene. Det farverige bjergnetværk vil så småt begynde at dukke op, indtil du når udsigtspunktet i 5.000 meters højde. Derefter går vi ned ad samme sti, for at gå ombord på vores køretøj og ned til Cusipata.Her vil du spise en lækker frokost og derefter vende tilbage til kejserbyen Cusco. I slutningen af Mountain of Colors-turen vender du tilbage til Cusco, hvor vores transport tager dig til byens centrum (ca. 16:30)

Everything was great, Dora and Renato were very kind, they picked us up at our accommodation, helped us with everything, and were always attentive.
Really great tour. Freddie our guide was so lovely, funny and knowledgeable. He was very attentive and made sure everyone was ok. He also on the way back showed us a different route down which was beautiful. 100% recommend!!
Challenge completed. Excellent tour, walking uphill to the 5036 meters of height of the Vinicunca rainbow mountain and then 100 more meters to contemplate the Red Valley. The journey, walking slowly and with pauses, is achievable. While you can choose to do it on horseback or an ATV (the last part requires ascending steep stairs), I chose to walk to slowly take in the entire landscape. Bring coca leaves and floral water; it will help you with altitude sickness. Although the day was sunny, it is still necessary to dress warmly. Don't miss the Red Valley; beautiful views await you.
The guide Dora was kind, attentive, and explained everything regarding the history of the Mountain of Seven Colors. She also kept an eye on each of the hikers. Great experience

Everything went perfectly, punctual and precise, and the place is wonderful.
Freddie is a nice guy. Pick up was prompt. He informed me how to get to the Red Valley and when to be back in the parking lot. I stuck to the schedule but someone else didn't. And so all the rest of us ended up wasting time. Breakfast and lunch were both at the same restaurant - buffet style. Quality and quantity of food were both very good.
Excellent experience! Our guide Hilthon shared us about the culture of Cusco and taught us many interesting things, took care to keep the group together and always kept an eye on us being okay, definitely made the experience even more wonderful! The mountain of 7 colors or Vinikunka is extraordinary, and all the landscapes around it beautiful, the trekking is worth 100%, and our tour included breakfast and lunch, plus the trekking poles to support us. I would recommend it to everyone!!
Fredi and Carlos are the best tour guides in all of Peru. If you are coming to Peru please do yourself a favor and book with them
I would not use this tour operator because we got the confirmation for 4:30am but the operator later stated via email that they would pick us up 30 minutes earlier which wasn’t in the confirmation or description. When we tried to contact them asking where are they said that we missed the pick up and would have to double pay for a taxi to get on the tour.
