From our perspective, the tour offered here cannot be described as a "hop-on hop-off" tour. There is only ever one bus on the road. If you actually get off to take a closer look at a sight, you have to wait about two hours for the bus to come by again. For a hop-on hop-off tour, that is an absolute no-go in our view. We had booked our ticket starting at 10:00 AM. Since we arrived in Trieste a bit late, we had to take the 12:15 PM bus. There we were told that although we were allowed to ride, since we did not board at 10:00 AM, it might be the case that we could only ride as far as Miramare and would have to get off there because some passengers would be coming back from there. That would have meant for us that we would have had to wait two hours in Miramare until the bus arrived there again. For a so-called "hop-on hop-off" tour, that is an absolute NO-GO for us! The point of such a tour is precisely that you can flexibly get off at the various stops, look at something, and then continue on with the next bus. If you basically have to wait two hours for the next bus after getting off, that does not have much to do with hop-on hop-off in our view. We were ultimately "lucky" and were allowed to stay seated. The city itself is very beautiful and the multilingual city tour on the bus was also really great. We also liked that the bus is air-conditioned. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were always looking for the announced yellow-blue bus. In fact, it was a white bus with a few black letters. We therefore did not find it particularly vivid or touristically appealing. All in all, we can only recommend the tour if you actually just want to see Trieste completely from the bus once. However, as soon as you plan to get off and take a closer look at the sights, we would advise against the tour. In our opinion, you should rather explore Trieste on foot yourself, since a great deal takes place within a radius of about 1 km. You can easily reach the sights outside the center with your own car. For us, the deciding factor was: A hop-on hop-off tour should offer flexibility. In our opinion, that is exactly what is completely missing here.

On the weekend it is more worthwhile because of the more frequent service. This way the waiting times are often very long. Most fellow travelers used the tour to Miramare and only got off there. Few used it as a city tour, myself included.

Outside our cruise ship is the bus stop 300m to the left. Organised with printed list of all bookings for the time and date. Map and headset to plug in description in multiple languages depending on channel. You are in an air conditioned bus. Worth every penny. Map is useful for an afternoon walk back to some of the sites. Hop on hop off feature very popular too.

Good way to get an overview of Trieste and introduction to the city. Good value for money. Delivers on what they promise. Seats are tight. I’m 6’5” and my knees had to be either slanted right or left or literally jammed into the seat ahead

Everything is well organized. The guide Mr. Massimo is kind, available, very knowledgeable, and very attentive to everyone's needs. Congratulations!! Comfortable bus trip and guided tour of Ljubljana with free time available for lunch or shopping. Enchanting Lake Bled! I highly recommend it!

Trieste Italy Hop on Bus Tour. Do NOT buy tickets for this tour. They don't give you accurate directions to meet the tour. They also sent inaccurate photo of what the tour buses looked like. And they make excuses for that and will not refund what you paid for the tour. This seems like a scam to me. I have trusted TripAdvisor and Viator in the past, but no more. There are too many other tour companies available now that offer good customer service to trust TripAdvisor/Viator anymore. I travel a lot and will not use them anymore.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The ticket is valid for 24 hours. The quality-price ratio is excellent.

This interesting and delightful bus tour of Trieste with an audio guide departs from Molo Audace and will take you around the city to the castles of San Giusto and Miramare... The service departs on time and lasts about an hour and a half... you will be allowed, if you wish, to get off at one of the intermediate stops (there are 12 if I remember correctly) to better visit the places and get back on at the same stop at the agreed time... The driver and the guide were very kind, ready to provide you with any necessary information... I had booked and paid for the tickets online in advance so as not to have to wait to get them on the bus... the cost was 17 euros per ticket... absolutely well spent. If you come to Trieste by car like we did, you can park at Parking San Giusto on Via del Teatro Romano, just a 5-minute walk from the bus departure point... For about 3 hours of parking, we paid 7 euros....

It is NOT a hop on, hop off tour. They tried to tell us we could only get on if we agreed to get off at the farthest possible stop from center of town. Super rude and very unfriendly to tourists. Left us stranded in the middle of the city.
