Traditionel irsk hjemmelavet bagescones og brød

Beskrivelse
Dagens oplevelse afholdes i mit smukke hyggelige hjem i Kilcolgan.

My son & I had a great time learning and creating! This unique experience is for everyone, even young folks & those with no baking experience! Also, go to Kate’s website to register. Go & have a delicious time!!!
Delightful home with “gorgeous” food! Reach out to Kate of Kate’s Place directly - either her or on her website - and choose what you would like to make. We made the scones and bread, the young woman ahead of us made personal apple pie and Irish coffee, and she mentioned also teaching pizza making. Kate is a love and extremely talented in the kitchen. We sat together for tea in the dining room with floor to ceiling windows, surrounded by perennials, and indulged in the chocolate and strawberry scones we had made moments before. Truly a delightful experience. Plan for the 30min drive or bus ride each way from Galway. Plan ahead if you can. * Call Kate for a ride to and from the 51 bus stop in Kilcolgan or maybe even her partner John will pick you up from your hotel in Galway for a modest fee - we paid EU35 - and had seen rates as high as EU50.
When you make your reservation contact Kate and she will give a ride to and from the bus stop. Class is great and the scones are perfect
We had a great time. We were coming from Cork on bus 51, and the bus stop was on the way. Kate was very accommodation and we loved the recipes and meeting others. Would recommend.
Before our departure for Ireland, I anticipated grand experiences on a grand scale: Dublin’s seven-story Guiness Storehouse, Dingle’s thirty-mile Sleah Head Drive, County Clare’s nine-mile long 700-foot-tall Cliffs of Moher. How could I have imagined that one of the most touching experiences and most enduring memories would be a half-afternoon in a cozy Kilcolgan kitchen learning to make light, delicate peach-and-almond scones and sturdy spelt Irish bread with the effervescent and accomplished Kate Wright and her lovely and assiduously helpful associate and friend Maureen? If your search has led you to this “activity” (which is too short and neutral a word to describe what happens here), then stop your searching and BOOK THIS NOW. I have long enjoyed scones (who hasn’t?), but the ones Kate will teach you to make are purely next level. Likewise, you’ll be making this bread forever. Most importantly, you will spend time with artists of both the kitchen and the human heart. My family and I will carry our time in Ireland with us for the rest of our lives. For me, a key part of that time was the time I was blessed to share with Kate.
This was one of the BEST experiences we have ever had when traveling! Kate is the BEST and having the opportunity to bake traditional scones and brown bread in her home was an experience we will never forget!
Thanks Elissa for your kind review,it was a pleasure hosting you,Regards Kate.
Learning how to make the best scones I had while in Ireland was worth the cost of this experience alone. Add to that the charm of Kate and her husband, their home and garden, and eating the scones and brown bread made this the perfect finale to our 10-day Ireland trip. I could not recommend this experience highly enough!
My daughter & I had a wonderful time baking with Kate. She is so friendly and hospitable. She has a beautiful home, welcoming kitchen and we made some delicious scones and bread. I will do this again when we come back to visit Ireland.
Kate is lovely, warm, patient and encouraging. She gives good instructions and steps in to help, if needed. The bonus - you get to eat what you've baked right there! You don't feel rushed to leave. Kate's recipes turn out great and are very delicious! I would do it again.
Thank you for the review Fern!
Lovely. Fun. Charming, Kate! Expert baker. Gracious host. Serene backyard garden. Light, delicate scones. Rich brown bread. We loved it. Ann & John
A pleasure hosting you both, so glad you enjoyed.
