We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Jacque as our mountain tour guide! From the very beginning, she took the time to listen to our likes and dislikes and thoughtfully planned a trip tailored specifically to what we wanted to see and do. Jacque was incredibly friendly and attentive, thinking of every little detail we might need along the way. She came prepared with water, snacks, chargers, and so many other thoughtful necessities that made our day in the mountains completely stress-free and enjoyable. She was also extremely knowledgeable about the area and answered all of our questions with ease. Along the way, she shared fun stories and interesting facts that made the experience even more memorable. And somehow, she managed to take us to some incredible spots where we got to see a bear, a white squirrel, a chipmunk, and deer — truly unforgettable! We could not have asked for a more relaxed, enjoyable, knowledgeable guide. Jacque went out of her way to provide for our comfort with snacks, water, umbrellas, phone chargers and a clean spacious vehicle. We couldn’t have felt more looked after on our day out with Jacque along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and we have never known a tour operator go further above and beyond the call of duty than she did. Jacque made contact with us almost immediately after booking because she wanted to learn about us, our trip and our interests so that she could tailor her recommendations accordingly. And when those recommendations arrived they included (much to our surprise and appreciation) not only stuff for our day together, but for the rest of our stay in Asheville (including extensive dietary-adjusted food and drink stops) as well as our journeys to and from the city. Jacque gave us a wonderful overview of the scenic surrounding areas of Asheville including Black Mountain, Brevard, a waterfall as well as the North Carolina Arboretum, Biltmore Village, and even a brief overview of Asheville. She also was extremely helpful in providing recommendations to worthwhile sights to visit in downtown Asheville , places to eat-I have some dietary restrictions-and even good public restrooms. Jacque helped us customize our own private day tour with brunch in Black Mountain, a visit to Lake Lure, a bit of shopping, and stops at a couple of mountain wineries. It was so much fun and ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip! Jacque was amazing from start to finish—super communicative, right on time, incredibly knowledgeable, and full of great recommendations. She knew the area inside and out and had suggestions along the way that made our day even better. It felt less like being on a tour and more like having a local friend showing you around. We also loved how flexible and personalized the experience was. We travel quite a bit and usually use a private tour. Obviously this approach is more expensive but we get to tailor our day and schedule. One concern with this approach is the guide and their personality and relationship since we are with these persons for 7-8 hrs per tour day. From the very initial contact with Jacque we felt comfortable with her approach and by the time we had finished the day we felt even more definite we had made a great decision. The day was totally at our discretion with excellent recommendations which helped us decide on what we wanted to see and do. One final comment, since we have used private tours a number of times before we were very excited and pleased with the cost for the day. My friends and I decided to visit Asheville for the very first time and we did not want to rent a car.
