Dette er ikke kun en pintxo crawl - det er den ultimative baskiske mad oplevelse med syv (heldigvis;) stop! Fra ikoniske barer til skjulte perler, vil vi dykke ind i de smage, historie og kultur, der gør San Sebastián en af verdens førende foodie destinationer. Undervejs vil vi møde folkene bag maden og smage alt fra ost til pintxos, bagværk til vine og cider til likører, og opdage, hvorfor baskisk køkken går langt ud over pintxos. Vil du have det rigtige? Vores eventyr begynder med et kort stop på en elsket nabobutique med ost. Hylderne er foldet med mere end 50 håndværkssorter, hver håndlavet med omhu og bærer sin egen historie. Vi vælger et særligt udvalgt udvalg til senere at nyde - nogle smagsstoffer er værd at bygge forventning for.
Vores næste stop tager os til en moderne bar, der er berømt for sit unge og opfindsomme kulinariske team. Her, vil vi endelig åbne den ost smagsboks, parring det med et forfriskende glas naturligt vin. Efter det kommer en af San Sebastians signatur pintxos - levende, udtryksfuld og uforglemmeligt baskisk, der blander traditionelle rødder med moderne kreativitet.
På en af byens legendariske pintxo spots får tidløse baskiske staples et nyt perspektiv. Kendte ingredienser forvandles gennem ekspertteknik og fantasifulde twists. Lige udenfor, de smalle gamle bydel gader hvisker historier om gastronomiske pionerer og generationer af kokke, der formede denne kulinariske hovedstad.
Glemt inde i en historisk vin butik over et århundrede gammel, vi pause for at nyde Patxaran, den værdsatte regionale likør fyldt med sløje bær. Glat, mildt sød, og dybt bundet til baskisk identitet - især når parret med en delikat lokal sød. Det er et roligt og meningsfuldt øjeblik fyldt med tradition.
Dette stop fejrer essensen af baskisk smag, der samler det bedste af havet og landskabet på en enkelt plade. Vores rejse afsluttes i en historisk bageri i den gamle bydel, der er berømt for sin pantxineta: en klassisk baskisk desserter af sprøde puff bakker og creamy custard. Frisk fra ovnen og umuligt tilgivende, det tilbyder en lækker lokal finale til vores pintxo oplevelse.

We sampled Basque cheese, wines, pintxos and desserts over 3 hours with our excellent guide Malena. Walked all over San Sebastián to 6 food places while Malena pointed out several other details about the city and Basque culture. We enjoyed a variety of seafood, egg, pork, beef and vegetarian pintxos, along with local wines, vermouth and cider. Malena was very mindful of our vegetarian/pescatarian friends’ food restrictions as well as our preferences of the type of pintxos. Overall a great experience.

San Sebastián did not disappoint. It’s a beautiful city, very walkable and the food options are outstanding. The Pinxtos are out of this world and there are so many options to try. Beef cheek, Pork ribs, Seafood and vegetarian dishes. The beach’s are immaculate and you can hire surf gear at reasonable rates. It’s worth taking the open top bus tour which you can hop on and off. And the Funicular destination is a must, the view from the top of the mountain is breathtaking. The city is also excellent value for money and the people are always friendly. We will definitely visit again.
We enjoyed every bit of this tour, and our host was knowledgeable and did everything in our power to make it so enjoyable. The highlight was the pulled pork sandwich!
Thoroughly recommend this tour. Martin was an excellent guide with great knowledge of the local food and culture. Doing it on our first night was perfect. It gave us confidence navigating pintxos bars, plus we got to try other regional specialities we wouldn’t have found on our own. A great mix of food, insight, and orientation - the ideal start to a visit in San Sebastián.
We completely agree that doing a food tour on the first evening in San Sebastián is one of the best ways to start a trip :) Once you understand the rhythm of the pintxos bars and the local food culture, the whole city opens up in a different way. Our guide Mattin was wonderful, friendly, close and very knowledgeable. He took us to places outside the tourist circuit, places that if you don't know them as local, you wouldn't discover. The best thing was that we tried pintxos made at the moment, none of the typical bar full of pintxos that look with the naked eye
I found it an exceptional tour. Both for the selection of venues visited and for the professionalism of Mattin and Lucia. I recommend it for all those who want to discover new places, beyond the classic pintxos tour done in the city.

Ernes was amazing! We tried many different pintxos and wines and had impromptu stops along the tour..We also learned all about San Sebastián and the Basque culture… A great way to spend 3 hours.. highly recommend!
From the moment the tour began, it was clear that this was not just about food but an immersive experience into the Basque culture, guided by experts with a true passion for their city's gastronomy. The selection of pintxos and wine pairings was exceptional. The guides were truly knowledgeable, not just about the food/wine but also about San Sebastian's history and culinary traditions. Perhaps the most exciting part was the discovery of hidden gems-places we might have walked past without a second glance. These places delivered some of the most amazing pintxos we had eaten. Overall, this tour is a MUST for food lovers! It strikes the perfect balance between a little history and indulgence, offering a deeper appreciation of Basque cuisine while treating us all to an unforgettable evening. Oh wait...did I forget to mention the final stop...a chocolate stop. Not just any chocolate...the best! This tour is highly recommended.
