Sloth Tour i La Fortuna og Tortillas madlavningskursus

Beskrivelse

The guide, Estevan, was very knowledgeable about the sloths. It was an easy found walk through the foliage despite the rain. Fun fact, the sloths really ball up in the rain so we didn't see much of their faces until the end one gave us a 30 second view. I was happy with that at least. The tortilla cooking lesson was fun and fully inclusive of participants. Getting to eat the tortilla with additional treats after was a great way to end the tour, after pressing came juice.
This tour was fantastic! We saw sloths in five different places, lots of birds, frogs, bats, a caiman, leaf cutter ants, and beautiful plant life. Our guide was David and he was awesome! He did a wonderful job spotting things, showing us in the scope, and taking great photos and videos through the scope for us. The trail is flat and very easy to walk. It’s cleaned of fallen leaves and tree roots, etc. David was able to answer questions for us and made it an interesting tour. It would be a good idea to wear/bring good bug spray. At the end of the walk, we learned how to crush sugar cane to make a drink. We also learned how to make our own tortillas and enjoyed a snack. There is a nice gift shop with locally-made art pieces as well. I would definitely recommend this experience.
We loved our tour with Sergio! He was funny and so knowledgeable about all the plants and animals that we saw. Easy flat walk on a path through the forrest. We saw 7 sloths, a pit viper, 3 tree frogs and various types of birds and plants that he taught us about. Tortilla making, sugarcane drink, and snack at the end was a nice finish to a fantastic tour. I would highly recommend!
My partner and I had an amazing time on this tour, definitely worth the money. David was an excellent guide and you could tell he was really passionate about his job. We saw seven sloths on this trip, a couple of poison dart frogs, snakes, and leaf cutter ants. I would have not been able to see any of this without a guide and a telescope so I was very glad David was there to point out everything for us. The sugarcane and tortilla class was a lovely touch to the end of the tour, where everyone participated in juicing sugar cane and making and flipping their own tortilla. I was surprised by how much food you got (think of a small meal instead of a light snack). Overall, amazing tour, would recommend.
We really enjoyed our sloth tour with David. He was amazing and knew so much about the land and the animals. We were able to also see many various frogs and plants. The Tortilla cooking at the end was so much fun. We did not know we were also making sugar water from the sugar cane and that was also lots of fun. I highly recommend this tour!
We saw many sloths in a short period of time! The guide provided lots of fascinating information about sloths and other plants and animals. And the sugar cane juice and tortillas were delicious. I would highly recommend this tour for families or anyone. The location is very convenient as well.
We had such a great time. We saw sloths, a little crocodile, bats, poisonous frogs (our tour was at 8:30am) and lots of birds. David was our tour guide and he was great. And the end of the hike we get to make a tortilla and try it with cheese and a mix of veggies. Our kids (2 and 6 year old) loved it and ate all of it! We also got to have some sugar cane juice (so yummy) I need to mention that when placing the tortilla on the stove, my daughter folded it and she was so sad and started crying because it would not look good. They let her try one more time and it made her day!
It was a fun tour! We learned a lot about sloths and the rest of the animals and creatures in the area. And the tortilla making was so much fun and incredibly delicious. Our tour guide mar was amazing, full of knowledge. Thank you!
Amazing way to start our Costa Rica vacation! David, our guide, was amazing and the ladies who helped with the tortilla making “demonstration” were very sweet. (To be clear—and to address other reviews that thought the tortilla making “class” was “less than”— the class consists of taking a ball of masa and shaping into a tortilla and then placing it on a large griddle to cook it. The only step missing is mixing the masa with water, which is messy and really not a big deal. (Some reviewers have complained that they “didn’t get a demonstration on that part”...not a big deal, IMHO. You DO get a good class on forming a proper tortilla and cooking it. Plus you get an additional tortilla with a traditional topping, a piece of traditional cake, as well as cold juice and water. One BONUS thing is participating in the process of pressing sugar cane to get the juice. Everyone gets a cup of the juice. Ok, that’s that. The main event—nature walk to see sloths, (saw 5, of both varieties), poisonous frogs, lizards, caiman, and owls. David was a great guide and extremely knowledgeable. He could answer questions about everything related to sloths, habitat, and the ecosystem. My family were very happy with the whole thing, which should be enough of an endorsement for any of you—if you knew how picky my kids are. 😂😂 Seriously—sign up for this and enjoy!! Pura Vida!! Gracias David! 🇨🇷
Fantastic! David was very personable and knowledgeable. The walk had benches along the way for those that needed a break in the heat. We saw 4 sloths, a porcupine, great egret, Jesus Lizard and Jesus bird a couple of poisonous frogs and a pit viper. We had 9 in our group from 16 to 74 and everyone enjoyed it!
