Really excellent tour. Marcello (our guide) was extremely knowledgeable and the tour was really well organised moving between different areas of the plantation.
Fantastic experience for our family while visiting La Fortuna. Our guide David was so passionate about the plantation, and so knowledgeable about the growing methods, and we loved the hands on demos where we could all participate. Our tour lasted nearly 2 and 1/2 hours so great value for the money.
Very easy walk, umbrellas provided. Lots of great information on sustainable and generation farming. Lots of unique plants and wildlife to see as well. I was not expecting to see so many birds, and a sloth. Of course very tasty experience. Alberto was great.
Our guide Johnathan was amazing, so knowledgeable so informative. Learned so much I didn’t know
It was very informational, and a great opportunity to sample fresh coffee and chocolate. Definitely recommend!
Tour guide was very knowledgable. And showed us a lot of cool things. If your not into coffee and chocolate it might be boring
Really incredible tour! Beautiful farm, energetic, funny, and knowledgble tour guide, and a fun/interctive experience. We got to try freshly ground 100% chocolate, two types of freshly brewed coffee, see different grades of green coffee bean, process a stalk of sugar cane, see actual organic pineapples (they're so tiny!!), and (on a more sad, but still valuable note), learn more about the experience of working on a coffee farm and struggling under the current payment structure for farmers in Costa Rica. Highly recommend!
We had a fantastic time on the coffee and chocolate tour! It was both educational and delicious, with plenty of opportunities to learn about the production process while sampling fresh coffee and chocolate. Esteban was an excellent guide! The shop on the property is pricey.
Alberto was an outstanding host! He was extremely informative and knowledgeable on both the chocolate and coffee process. We were worried our kids would be uninterested in the coffee portion of the tour, but he did a great job keeping them entertained and included. He even shared his knowledge on the wildlife and vegetation around us, spotting a viper, wild turkeys, and other fruit plants. We said the whole experience will likely change the way we drink coffee from now on. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history and culture of coffee and cacao in Costa Rica.
It was informative, but a long tour. We had just arrived in Costa Rica a few hours earlier, so it might have been long because we were tired. The tour was informative and our guide very knowledgeable and friendly. Our 12 yo wasn't super into the coffee part of the tour, and it was hot and muggy (wet season).
