Santiago de Compostela & Valença do Minho - fra Porto
Beskrivelse
Santiago er en af de mest populære destinationer for katolske pilgrimme i hele verden. Er hovedstaden i Galiza (Spanien), og er placeringen af Santiago-katedralen (1075 – 1128), hvor resterne af Santiago den apostoliske kan grundlægges. Ruterne til Santiago er menneskehedens arv af UNESCO og bruges af tusinder hver dag på rejsen til den religiøse hovedstad på Den Iberiske Halvø. På vores tur vil vi dedikere morgenen til at besøge katedralen, og efter frokost hænge rundt i middelalderbyen Santiago og opdage nogle hemmeligheder i dens smalle gader. På hjemturen er der også et stop i Valença do Minho, den portugisiske grænseby øverst i nord. Her vil vi fokusere vores besøg i fæstningsværket med rødder fra XII og synlig rekonstruktion fra XVIII. En unik udsigt til byen, Minho-floden (naturlig grænse) og den spanske side.

Ricardo our guide and driver was excellent! Very patient with our photo taking and he had a wonderful personality. Never felt rushed. Just a wonderful experience with him.

We had always wanted to visit Santiago de Compostela and were beyond lucky to find Ricardo Costa to take us there from Porto. We arrived at our apartment right on time and was a fun companion for the day and was very knowledgeable about Santiago. He told us about the history and significance of every aspect of the Cathedral. We also stopped at a charming walled city on the way called Valenca do Minho. It was an unexpected place and we really enjoyed it. Ricardo stopped at a typical cafe for a sweet treat on the way and another for lunch. We really enjoyed the day and it was exactly what we wanted. We will definitely call on Ricardo again the next time we are in Portugal.
