This was an amazing trip! The views, accommodations, and food was amazing. Everything was very organized and you were just able to enjoy the experience! Javier was an amazing guide- he was knowledgeable, organized, fun, and kind. I highly recommend!
An amazing journey trekking through the Andes over the Salkantay Pass to Machu Picchu. An experience of a lifetime which would not have been the same without our beautiful guide Guido. His experience, knowledge, good humour and kindness made for an incredible time. From organising every detail, supporting us along the way and teaching us about the land and history, I couldn’t recommend a better guide. Salkantay Trekking has been a great company to work with, they were organised and responsive and look after their community. A special mention to the chefs and horseman which we would not have survived without. A dream experience.
An excellent experience. Javhier (our guide) was charismatic, funny, knowledgeable, and most importantly, kind. The trek was challenging but manageable and we were in safe hands. We ended up in a group of 10 people: the group had a nice mix of ages and backgrounds and everyone was friendly. I would wholeheartedly recommend.
Hands down one of the best experiences you can have! I am not a hiker by all means but the Salkantay Trek was truly a great challenge and rewarding hike. You will be taken care of and meet the best people along the way. A huge thank you to our tour guide, Javier V, who’s the BEST, horsemen and chefs! They truly made this experience incredible.
I am extremely pleased with my entire Salkantay Trekking experience. The 5-day trek was both physically challenging and incredibly rewarding, made even more memorable by our guide, Guido. Guido made each day fly by with his enthusiasm, encouragement, and deep knowledge of the history, culture, and traditions of the mountains we trekked through. Much of what he shared came from his own life experience—having been born and raised in the region, he offered a unique perspective on a way of life that many visitors would never otherwise experience. The trek was well paced, and throughout the journey I always felt that Guido genuinely cared about the safety and wellbeing of every member of the group, ensuring that we all reached each checkpoint comfortably and safely. Overall, I am incredibly grateful to have had Guido as my guide. His encouragement and positive attitude helped me push through one of the most physically demanding and rewarding experiences of my life.
The experience with Salkantay Trekking was unforgettable. From the time we booked and received the information package right through to the end of the trek we were so well looked after. It helps that I landed the most incredible group and guide. Guido is an absolute expert in his field, so knowledgeable, funny and caring and deeply connected to the environment we trekked through on the 5 day Salkantay hike. This was such a special experience. Our guide, Guido, was kind, patient, knowledgeable and incredibly funny. The hiking was more challenging than my sister and I expected, but he was very encouraging all throughout and ensured we made it safely to each leg. Guido knew so much about the cultural practices, the environment around us, history of Machu Picchu and more, so the trip was not only adventurous but also quite informative. Very grateful for this experience and Guido in particular!
Guido was the most amazing guide, his knowledge and hard work made the trip even better than we were hoping for. We were fully supported the entire way and had ana amazing time with so many special memories. Guido led at the perfect pace with breaks and photo opportunities throughout each day. His insight and teaching of the mountains, jungle and Manchu picchu made the experience much more meaningful. Very impressed.
