Super nice and informative guide. Friday night production for the week was already over. Book for more "action" during the week. Afterwards tasting of almost all varieties possible.
A very informative tour of the Ottakringer Brewery in which on the one hand it was explained how the beer brewery takes place and on the other hand the history of the brewery, the second largest private brewery in Austria was explained in a very humorous way. Highly recommended!

Friday afternoon no production, history of the brewery in the cold, dark atrium, technique of brewing in the warm and ok, climbing stairs and back outside, view of pipes, mini beer tasting about 0.05 l, view of bottling (not in operation), final tasting 30 min in a hall again with queuing, toilets under construction, outside in Oeko. Overall, an opportunity wasted by the Ottakringer Brewery, which simply makes interested customers €20 poorer.

Um unseren Kund:innen ein modernes und schönes Betriebsgelände bieten zu können, fanden im Winter Umbauarbeiten statt, die auch manche Toiletten betrafen. Aus diesem Grund wurden vorübergehend zusätzliche mobile WCs aufgestellt. Bei der Bierprobe aus den Tanks handelt es sich um eine kleine Kostprobe, die jedoch nichts mit der Verkostung am Ende der Führung zu tun habt. Der Grund für diese Probe ist, frisches und unfiltriertes Bier direkt aus den Tanks testen zu können. Am Ende der Führung gibt es eine 30-minütige Verkostung mit mehr als 8 preisgekrönten Biersorten, bei der auch mehrere Gläser getrunken werden können. Wir würden uns freuen, wenn du deine Bewertung überdenkst. Solltest du weitere Fragen haben, kontaktiere uns gerne direkt und wir besprechen dein Feedback persönlich. We loved the red bier (which is widely available) so made the pilgrimage to the brewery on the outskirts of town. Didn't bother with the tour and found the visitor centre disappointing and little more than a brewery shop. Not worth the effort of getting there. The photo makes it look better than it is. Disappointing.
Thank you for your feedback! We do not state anywhere that we actually have a visitor’s center and apparently you also did not take part in our tour. We think getting a 3-star-review is a bit unfair then. Our shop is a great place to buy our products or try some of our beers, but to fully experience the brewery and have a proper tasting, you would need to take part in our tour. I booked a brewery tour directly on the Ottakringer website. The tour guide was there on time and led us through the brewery. She was very friendly and was able to answer all of our questions. At the end there was an extensive tasting of the brewery's various beers. I am very satisfied with the tour and would do it again if I were to visit Vienna.

The visit was magnificent. Our guide Maia and the good brewer Mario accompanied us in the discovery of this brewery and in the tasting of many types of beer, each better than the other. Sincere congratulations.
