The driver was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He was attentive about when he would be at the hotel to pick me up. He made the whole experience delightful. I have nothing negative to say about Samuel the guide he was excellent. The only criticism I would have of the tour was that in the van if you’re in the back it can be difficult to hear the guide. Maybe get them a microphone. For what we saw and got to do it was an excellent day and made easier by the guide Samuel even when the temperature was 103f/40c. Make sure you have a good pair of shoes there is a lot of walking. I did 11,000 steps.
Pavel was our guide. Be was friendly and very knowledgeable. We were here during the record breaking heat wave and his care for all of us to have the best experience and make us comfortable was exceptional.
Excellent trip. We stayed in Budapest which is a great option provided by this tour. The small group experience and knowledgeable guide was valuable.
Very good tour overall. Michal H. was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and gave great recommendations throughout the day. He was also an excellent driver, which made the long trip very comfortable. The walking tour was well done and hit the major highlights and sites in both Bratislava and Budapest. I especially enjoyed learning more about the history of both cities. I only wish we had a little more time in Budapest and time to visit the Central Market, because the day went by so quickly. The hotel pick-up and drop-off was also a huge plus and made everything very easy. Overall, a great experience.
Was a very long and hot day, but was an excellent tour. Absolutely enjoyed my time with the tour. Heat was not the tour fault, so no issue there. Guide was excellent!
Lovely trip if you want to experience two different countries and cultures outside of Vienna. The history was brief but thorough, the recommendations for sites and food were on point, and the beauty was beyond compare. The guides and drivers were really flexible and responsive! Great trip:)
The tour company did not provide us with our guide’s contact information in advance, like the listing said that they would. Well over 24 hours in advance of the tour, we had to change our hotel pickup location due to a hotel change, and we received confirmation from TripAdvisor that it was updated. On the day of the tour, I tried contacting the company early in the morning to confirm that they were coming, since I had heard nothing from them, and they did not respond. We went downstairs at our hotel regardless at 8AM. Nobody came. At 8:20, we tried messaging them on TripAdvisor, calling the tour company number multiple times, and messaging the tour company on WhatsApp, none of which they responded to. Finally, after 45 minutes of waiting with no word and no pickup, we left and requested a refund. Then, 50 minutes after the initial start time, the tour company called, and said that they were at the wrong hotel waiting for us, as they had not seen the change, despite us receiving confirmation they had. We said at this point we no longer wanted to go, as we had not been able to reach them at all, and they were so late, and we had already requested a refund, and they said okay. Eventually, they denied our refund request. After going back and forth with TripAdvisor/Viator all day, Viator said that the company could not give us a refund as this counted as a “no show” for us, since the company claimed they were waiting at our hotel, even though they admitted over the phone they were at the wrong location. Horrible morning experience, and we are now out $400, as apparently TripAdvisor provides no guarantees in this case.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable on history and facts about our journey. In fact he even knew about traffic so he switched the tour around to accommodate when the heaviest traffic would be
Richard, the best young tour guide to navigate the difficult situation as one of the baby of the family needed medical attention. With the heavy traffic from Hungary to the next destination, Bratislava. He managed calmly to get the baby to the hospital nearby with the help of the police. A very special young man that we hope that whoever hire him would see and appreciate his graceful and empathetic manner in the hard situation.
The guide was friendly, enthusiastic, and always on time. However, the overall transportation experience could be improved. The van was very small and cramped for seven passengers plus the driver, making a long day of driving quite uncomfortable. The air conditioning was only average, which was noticeable during the summer. The guide also did not have a microphone, so passengers in the back could barely hear the commentary over the road and A/C noise. In addition, the pickup and drop-off process involved quite a few detours. While the guide did a great job, the vehicle and overall logistics significantly affected the experience.
